The redscorpions were there but she wasn't. I went back to early savegames where she WAS there. And followed her path. But in future saves, she was not at the places she was in the earlier saves.

Yeah, because the radscorpions (or possibly a yao guai) chased her off. It's a known issue. You might be able to get her back if you open the cons- oh right.
Seriously go buy FO3 GOTY off Steam. It's on sale like every 5 freakin' minutes.
