Global warming is just a fad
And who should I believe ? The opinion of almost every climatologists on the planet or the opinion of an anonymous idio^h^h^h^h person calling himself "duckman" posting on a gaming forum... Decision, decision !
Gillie on 20/5/2007 at 09:28
These scientists and experts on the climate, can not all be wrong.
So many now believe it,and are going on believing it.
I must be one of those stupid people then?. I care. So I waste my time caring. :erm:
It is more than just a few Icebergs thawing. I do care that animals like polar Bears will become extinct. That people will die as well as animals because of starvation. That the seas will flood land.
It is the selfish attitude I don't understand. There is far more disasters happening because of it.Some fad!.

I was going to rent "An Inconvenient Truth" tonight, but thanks to this thread, I'm all up to speed now.

I wonder how much greenhouse gas was generated in order to film, mass-produce, and for all the viewings of that movie?
Last year, after the murders in the Amish schoolhouse, the building was razed and a new one built in a different location. I recall reading an article hilighting that the new Amish school building was going to be "eco-friendly".
Many people who call themselves "environmentalists" appear to me more like prophets for a religion than espousing a scientific theory. It is a fad. Which is not the same thing as saying it's all lies. But that the dialog is mostly driven by social and political motives just makes it harder to figure out what the hell is going on.
And for the people bitching about Gore making that movie... Well you should've locked him up in the White House when you had the chance eight years ago. ;)

I assume then that you've gone green? You only use your computer when you
need to? Or is your electricity generated by renewable sources? Do you walk or cycle everywhere instead of driving? What about your mobile phone? How do you recharge the batteries?

(
http://www.businessweek.com/innovate/NussbaumOnDesign/archives/2007/02/gores_carbon_fo.html) Why should anyone listen to Al Gore?
The silly thing is that there is a case for ordinary people reducing electricity use - money. And yet we have more and more electrical appliances that add to electricity use, and a lot of modern TVs don't even have Off buttons - just Standby. The TV may look like it's doing nothing but it's still consuming power (and your money).

Being a hypocrite does not invalidate someone's point, it just prevents them from legitimately claiming the moral high ground.
Al Gore could use polar bears soaked in crude oil as fuel for his mansion's furnace and it wouldn't change a damn thing about what he has to say about the state of the environment.

Getting one's (

Replying to this thread lead to greenhouse gas emissions. I hope you're happy.

Why has this thread turned into a debate about global warming? Regardless of that issue, it's not a bad idea on any level to create sustainable and environmentally-friendly dwellings.
Gillie on 20/5/2007 at 17:28
Oh It's gone!
I did not mean to turn it into a global warming debate.
It made me annoyed. I am not a hypocrite
I stand by what I said though.
