I resisted for so long! :nono:
But now, due in no small part to you (you don't get ALL the credit, though), I am now the owner of two Boards of Canada records and an EP, two Aphex Twins (or rather, a Twin and and an AFX), fucking CONFIELD (FUCK), two Brian Enos (not sure if you had much to do with THAT), and some other shit like Beck and Radiohead and Cibo Matto that I probably wouldn't have bought if I hadn't decided at long last to pull my head out of my ass and get some music that wasn't made before 1981.
SO THANKS FOR THAT. Had I not finally picked up a copy of Blue Train, the Aja as you know him might have been lost forever.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, this thread is actually for bragging about your latest music purchases. It's been long enough already, and since I'm out almost two hundred and fifty dollars from music over the past couple weeks, I won't have anything to post about for a while.

Last thing I bought was Agaetis Byrjun by Sigur Ros, this is probably all the fault of OnionBob as I originally got Takk... on recommendation a couple of months ago and quite enjoyed it. So far I haven't been interested enough to get any BoC or Aphex Twin. But then I don't buy music that regularly anyway. The way it usually works is I get one album, then if I like it, I probably buy another album by the same band/artist if there is one, and just generally listen around one thing at a time. Like I said, most recent was Sigur Ros, I now have 3 of their albums. And I bought a lot of Mahler as well, including some of the actual scores.
However, last couple of weeks I've mostly been making my own stuff: demos, sketches, writing songs and recording. You'll probably hear some of it (eventually) if I get the band together and record it with the new microphone I'm about to order.

I bought the Thom Yorke solo record, which is nice but not really up to par with his Radiohead stuff. It has some good tunes though.
Before that I got the latest Muse album, Black Holes & Revelations, which is phenomenal and I urge everyone to check it out. It's a bit more pop than their previous albums, but also more consistently good. If you're unsure about it or even a Muse virgin, I'd recommend checking out the videos: (
http://youtube.com/watch?v=LnBAQj1KzAU) Supermassive Black Hole is their take on a pop song whereas (
http://youtube.com/watch?v=YygyHCRrKho) Knights of Cydonia is an epic sci-fi western track and a bit more traditional Muse.
Matthew Bellamy didn't pay me enough for this post.

These days you don't need a band! Just pirate yourself some software, get a preamp and an SM57 and you're set.
Forgot to mention my most important purchase: I thought the Autechre was going to be the strangest album I own, but over at Listen Records I have been eyeing for several months a section dedicated to a label called Improvised Music From Japan. $27.99 later and I am in possession of Meeting at Offsite Volume 3 by Toshimaru Nakamura and Tetuzi Akiyama + guests. More like Music Not to Get Laid By, but it's the obscurity that's so appealing. The obscurity and the packaging. At least it
looks hip and esoteric sitting next to MMW and Pat Metheny.

that's what I dun so far, SM58 notwithstanding.
and it's also why I'm getting a better mic.
but it's no substitute. Sure, it's fun, but a live element is all the better. Performance is equally important.

My latest music purchases: None whatsoever! I'm bound to get stuck in a loop sometime soon.

no, thank komag
u rox komag
As a side note, don't anybody ever recycle the old stuff? There seems to always be something I haven't heard in ages, so I don't really need any new CDs.

Björk - Debut
KoRn - Follow the leader
Besides that I got the pair for 15 euro there are no intersting stories to tell of this purchase.

I'm listening to a band called Eskimo Joes. Oh, and a fuckload of Philip Glass.
