Hey there...
So I am playing through Thief Gold for the millionth billionth time, and this one time around a particularly annoying Haunt encounter in RTC I accidentally slam my hand into the quick save/quick load keys simultanously. I don't know if this was the cause, but it created a savegame and loaded it at once, resulting in Garrett spawning slightly into the floor after making him plummet through the geometry and into the light grey void. Thinking I was proper b0rked, I hit quickload again, and found the game completely messed up:
-For starters, ALL pickups stayed in place, enabling me to pick them up indefinitely (unlimeted supply of everything).
-Secondly, when I fired any sort of arrow into an enemy it'd stick around, floating in mid-air, and would also act as a pickup/infinite arrow supply, even though they were just projectile models. (this made me think- would an unreasonably quick player be able to catch arrows fired at them in flight?)
-Third, when I killed zombies with holy water arrows they'd have two death animations: The regular exploding into bits one AND a standard death animation, leaving a zombie corpse (that would not reanimate), surrounded by chunks of himself (meta!).
-Fourthly, when I blew the gate with the explosive device all the debris froze in place a few feet after the explosion, and the explosion itself seemed to stay around as an invisible solid object that I had to mantle over to get past. Also, the device was still there after blowing.
-And fifthly, I suddenly had actual water crystals in my inventory... Which I could not use.
I completed the mission, but tried to only use the amount of arrows I was actually supposed to have (and it was near the end anyways, it happened after Brother Martello revealed his secret reward so I basically only had to kill the haunts and get the explosive device before peacing the heck outta there. The issue remained when Escape! loaded up, so I quit the game completely and fired it up again, which had put everything back in order ... but has any of you taffers experienced anything similar? Is this bug repeatable? I tried a random QS/QL combinations a few times afterwards but couldn't recreate the effects so I have no idea if that's what actually created this mess.
Here's an album showing a bit of the mayhem, including arrows in mid-air, unreasonably large amounts of arrows in my inventory, with the pickup remaining on the floor, standing on the invisible explosion and the zombie corpse next to his own splattered remains.

Looks like the savegame got corrupted and now it has the deathstage 12 bug. You could load it in DromEd and investigate some more.
edit_load_game saves/XXXX.sav (XXXX = name of the savegame)

I once experienced something similar when fire arrows (iin TMA, in Soulforge to be exact) wouldn´t flie and if they flew they only could hurt cameras. That made the level much more harder to play (I couldn´t get a lot of the robots out of my way) but it was still fun.
