TG FM - Whispers Below the Cobblestone (2021-05-13) - Updated to v1.1 - by Korthak

I spent about 90 minutes thoroughly lost, but loving all of it, then hit a stride for a while and finished the objectives, then lost for the last 30 minutes as I tried to find various places I had taken the left path instead of the right path, just to explore those other spaces! This reminded me a lot of the anniversary "sampler" missions, with a variety of locations and enemies, in the best way :)

I didn't see any blue texture in this mission and info in 1st post mention that requirement is version 1.27 or higher, so maybe that's the problem.
I'm playing on 1.27 and saw the blue textures as well.

And yes a scattering of flares or a lantern somewhere would have been appreciated, I've turned up my gamma to max but am still blind to half of the map.
trying to navigate the dark underground was difficult, especially with the inky shadows making the place seem both smaller and much larger at the same time.

Can anybody experiencing blue textures post a screenshot example? I have a suspicion of what it might be and would like to confirm at known bad locations.

I just finished this mission after a bit over 2 hours with 4040/4400 loot and absolutely loved it. Definitely one of the better Thief Gold missions. There were so many routes to go that at times I couldn´t decide which way to go first, being afraid that I might miss or forget about one :D There were also alot of "ah! So that´s where I am now!" moments, really nice! :D
The only thing I can complain about are the dark shadows in the underground place/sewers. They were so dark that I could barely see anything, it´s a real strain on the eyes. I was really glad when I had that pagan hand and was right back at the city.

Impressive FM, it looks great, has verticality and plenty of routes to get lost in. It took me 3 hours to complete because I missed the key on the body in the caves area and I was running in circles for quite a while before going back down there.
By the way, when you get on top of that towering terrace with overgrowth and a tree on it and you descend down the chimney in the apartment below there is no way to go back up, right? To get back up there I had to go all the way down to the underground city, then the caves, then the machinist place etc which seems like an insane detour and a very weird design decision, did I miss something?
Either way, fantastic work Korthak.

About the "one way" passage: I thought that maybe one could take the parts of a broken statue from the roof with the tree on it to the chimney, drop these parts into the chimney and later on climb on them to get back up. I did not try this, though.

Hello everyone,
new to the forum as a member, but have been an unregistered reader for years!
This mission looks really promising, especially considering that I can't get enough of "thieves highway / rooftop" and angelwatch-like scenarios. Have started the mission and played for a good while, but had to stop because of recurring graphic problems / errors - usually it was whilst entering a new area (I think rooms in most cases), when all of a sudden the whole room turns into snow-white textures. This stops when I move around for a bit, but in certain areas it happens again and again. Have to add that I played TG with TFix 1.27, but this was before the mission update to v1.1, so maybe the author has fixed the problem with his update by now? Or is it due to my pc, do I need a clean and fresh re-installation of TG or something like that? Help would be greatly appreciated as I was really looking forward to finishing and fully enjoying this mission. Excuse grammar or spelling errors since I'm no native English speaker ;-)
So long!

I need some help finding a way into Guldengerg's place. I found a locked door high in a courtyard. I read a post about going through the Hammer Temple (currently my location) but have found nothing. Thanks.

That
opens from inside once you get in elsewhere, there are a few ways.. I went to
top floor in Hammer Temple,
jumped across to parapets then used the
ledges to get to
a place to rope arrow to an upper window.
Edit: it was a little more involved than I first said above but just
continue on that ledge & you'll see that place to enter.

I found two ways into Guldenberg's residence. In both cases I first emerged from the Hammer temple, and from its roof continued in a southwestern direction. A bit later I reached the guardhouse marked on the map, directly northwest of Guldenberg's palace. One should search that place and find one or two helpful keys (e.g., the one to the guardhouse, allowing you to go to the streets and back again at your leisure) as well as some switches which open iron gates, providing a far easier way of travelling between the two parts of the city quarter than the one through the subterranean thief-filled maze. And once the player is finished with the guardhouse itself, he/she may find two ways to continue to Guldenberg's palace, somewhere on the upper floors of the guardhouse.
One way leads to wooden parts on the northern facade of the palace. Rope arrows most likely are needed there, but I did not write down details. The advantage of this access point to the palace is that the player enters Guldenberg's bedroom immediately and without having to deal with "loud" stone floors, guards and several rooms to cross. The disadvantage, however, is that several risky jumps are needed, and if they fail, Garrett gets hurt a lot.
The second access point to the Lord's palace lies at the western rim of the residence. Some balcony or walkway provides access to the palace, but there are guards there as well as rooms and the "loud" floors I wrote about.
Whether there is a third point of entry to Guldenberg's, I do not know.

I'm clearly being blind, since no one else seemed to struggle for long. Please may I have the general location of the sewer hatch key? I don't have any keys yet, but from this thread it seems that is the first key I need.
