Two months without a response from moldybread.
Can we expect an update to this mission at some point?
I havn't played it yet, and surely don't want to get stuck due to crashes.

Thanks a lot, Unna!

Thanks to Mat99's (
https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=149980&p=2427334&viewfull=1#post2427334) post, I found the autodestruct switch again which I had completely forgotten about 2 hours into the mission. It takes two clicks to move it into the lower position. After I do that, the mission crashes and I have to reset my entire computer. I tried three times.
I have Unna's DML script as "miss20.mis.dml" in C:\Thief\FMs\TSR-1000. The mission still crashes. I wonder what I might be doing wrong.

For lack of other options, I tried putting "miss20.mis.dml" directly into C:\Thief. The mission still crashes whenever I pull the autodestruct switch into the lower position. Then I have to reset the entire computer. I could really use some help here.

Have you got a save before the game crashes?
<Username> on 30/12/2020 at 11:50
Yes, I have. If you open (
http://ge.tt/6DStry93) game0005.sav, you should find yourself directly in front of the autodestruct switch. You have to unlock it and then move the lever to the downwards position. After "objective completed" is displayed, the mission will crash.

Doesn't look like you dml didn't load correctly. It loaded correctly when I installed the dml manually myself but your save is showing no dml.
Did you find the black jack?

I did indeed not install the DML correctly. With help from you and Galaer, I was now able to complete the mission. :D
First attempt:
* Normal difficulty
* 2 hours and 15 minutes
* 31 of 32 golden skulls
* Crushed 25 Hammerites with elevators, took out more with mines.
* Could not complete the mission because it crashed whenever I activated the self-desruction sequence.
* Had no access to a blackjack.
Second attempt:
* Normal difficulty
* 50 minutes
* 0 of 32 golden skulls
* Crushed 21 Hammerites with elevators, took out more with mines.
* Was able to complete the mission after applying Unna's DML correctly this time.
* The DML spawns a blackjack, but I opted play like the author intended and did not pick it up.
Some thoughts:
* This was a mostly miserable experience, running around with no weapons, leading Hammerites to be crushed in the elevator shafts one by one.
* Spoonman spent a lot of effort crafting this space station. It is impressive work in service of terrible game design and some infantile notes about shit, piss and semen.
* The last 3 minutes were amazing, however: After you start the self-destruction sequence, all the lights go out, red emergency lights come up, and monsters spawn in. You then have limited time to reach the EEV. All elevators have no power anymore and you have to find another way. This was surprisingly epic.
* I think the sentient bouncing ball on the "Happiness" deck might be a recreation of the "beach ball alien" from John Carpenter's Dark Star (1974).
* I recommend not picking up any golden skulls on your first playthrough. Spoonman forces the player into a fetch quest to get all 32 after the first ones are picked up.
A list of the keys and their purpose:
* On Science deck, on belt of Hammerite priest in bug beast test tube room. Opens doors on the Control deck.
* On Medical, on belt of body of dead Hammerite. Unlocks the self-destruction mechanism on the Engineering/Cargo deck.
* On Happiness deck, in toilet next to dance floor. Opens the door to one of the EEVs on the EEV deck.
An incomplete list of golden skull locations, might be useful for some players:
* Cargo - Atop a cargo box, in south of cargo hold, blue and red room with white light on ceiling.
* Cargo - Next two two vertical pipes in south, behind wall with two small holes in staircase where Acolyte is operating a machine, room adjacent to where the previous skull is sitting atop a box; also adjacent to vertical power core.
* Sleep - On lower bunk near note about basketball pinned to glass wall. This is not the bunk bed room with the note about the engineer's rectal problems.
* Sleep - On table in kitchen near McDonalds logo.
* Sleep - On top of giant tree in central hall (1st one).
* Happiness - On top of giant tree in central hall (2nd one).
* Happiness - On shelf in projector room of cinema.
* Happiness - On bar just left of where you leave the main elevator.
* Happiness - In flowerbed, left of cinema screen and up a short flight of stairs.
* Happiness - In tanning bed, south of the upper floor of the dance floor.
* Happiness - On bed, in room where Hammerite and Acolyte are dancing to a funky techno beat. This is not the main dance floor.
* Happiness - On table, in dining room north of the upper floor of the dance floor.
* Happiness - In shaft under cinema, below the benches.
* Happiness - In pool next to cinema.
* Happiness - On bed. From the foot of the big tree, go north. You will end up at a glass window. You can see the room with the skull ontop the bed behind it.
* Control - On chair in front of button "Security Override".

Updated dml to fix a few doors and end game stats.
However this dml does
NOT include Unna's cheat of giving players a blackjack.
Code:
DML1
//TSR-1000: Fixes. File: miss20.mis.dml
//Loot count
+ObjProp 1960 "Loot"
{
}
//Prevent crash
+ObjProp 2422 "Scripts"
{
"Script 0" NVDeleteTrap
}
//Prevent unlocking through doors
+ObjProp 2649 "BlockFrob"
{
"" true
}
+ObjProp 2668 "BlockFrob"
{
"" true
}
+ObjProp 2771 "BlockFrob"
{
"" true
}
Here's the same code
but with a blackjack included in the mission
Code:
DML1
//TSR-1000: Fixes. File: miss20.mis.dml
//Loot count
+ObjProp 1960 "Loot"
{
}
//Prevent crash
+ObjProp 2422 "Scripts"
{
"Script 0" NVDeleteTrap
}
//Prevent unlocking through doors
+ObjProp 2649 "BlockFrob"
{

}
+ObjProp 2668 "BlockFrob"
{
"" true
}
+ObjProp 2771 "BlockFrob"
{
"" true
}

The mission is a slog to play without a blackjack. Spoonman has an odd, passive-aggressive disdain for the player community:

Checked Dromed. There is no blackjack, but there are two objects named ‘F**kThePlayer’.
I saved a copy of the backjack script for TSR-1000 in case anyone wants to play the mission without having to crush Hammerites with elevators.
