This is a weird one: Spectacular brush and texture work, but rather bad gameplay with lots of undead and not a lot of shadows to hide in. Gave up trying to ghost this twenty minutes in and just ran. The second part in which the mansion "resets" and
replaces all undead with Hammerites was a lot more fun. Finished on Normal in 51 minutes with
5440 of
7386 loot. I also got the "new objective" chime after I found the dead woman, but no new objective appeared. The part after you pick up the tome seems to be bugged as well: A key you pick up in the room does not work and your only chance to leave is to
exit with the mage while the door is still open. This mission contains what appears to be a full copy of the manifesto of Elliot Rodger, a spree killer who murdered six people and injured fourteen others in the (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Isla_Vista_killings) 2014 Isla Vista killings.

Actually, that part after getting the tome is not bugged. There is a tiny key on the bed next to the book, which opens the door.
This was a funny mission btw, I enjoyed it, just the streets in the beginning were too empty.
Really liked the comments of the book, and the hammerites :joke:

You are totally right, Taylor! I missed the second key in the room. It is really tiny. Do you know if the first key I found unlocks any door in the mission?

As far as remember, I
didn't find any use of it. I'd say it either opens some hidden stuff or something which can be opened/circumvented by other ways (or just a chest/moneybox/whatever on an obvious place which I succesfully missed) :cheeky:

I don't personally have issue with "foul language" but it just doesn't fit Thief at all. The retribution stuff "in this era" its just not funny and unless I missed something a bit scary.
Anyhow, it was tricky in places and looked great, too bad the exterior didn't have more to explore.
I had no idea that diary stuff was pulled from some freakish source lol.
I was seriously wondering about that "manifesto" yikes

Once again the Spoonman graces us with a mission where halfway through you start realising something is wrong.

It was a fun mission, perhaps too easy. To make it challenging I hope to knock out every Hammer in the mansion and those outside so I can freely explore the map.

One of the strengths of Thief is the immersive nature and atmosphere of the game, yet this author felt it humorous maybe, especially after you leave the mansion, to interrupt with popup comments that were nothing except annoying. As well as buggy 'white space' after grabbing Eliot's book, in trying to return to the room..lucky I saved before venturing to the roof, took a couple times to work.
