This was a bug in the old, competition version of the game with the Hall of 100 Heroes puzzle:

I'm now playing the remastered version, and I think the same bug, or a similar one, must have reared its ugly head:
I'm in the room with 9 walls (one level above the statue with the glowing eyes), and none of the 2-lever combinations adding up to 9 work! Even tried 3-lever combination, no result. Unlike the poster in the old thread, I did not interfere with the zombies in the rooms.Resolution: my only earlier savegame was from the beginning of Mission 2. I bit the bullet, restarted and beelined for the hall. The room works now, confirming my suspicious that it's the same old bug.

Yeah I don't think I ever got to the bottom of that, and put it down to a quirk of dark engine saving. If I recall correctly, I did add a method of resetting the puzzle.

Yes, but resetting the puzzle with the button doesn't help, since even the correct combination doesn't work.
I've had another similar glitch in one of the other rooms. I vaguely suspect that picking up the loot item in a room before solving the puzzle MIGHT be the cause when it happens?

I just replayed this mission from nicked and again I have to say it´s such an amazing and enjoyable mission! It includes so many refreshing ideas like the key of atunement. It´s so much fun not always have to backtrack to get to the next point but to always start again in the runetower.
I also love how you can "deactivate" the archers and the killing swords if you know how.
So I was wondering: Is there also a way to "deactivate" the skullspiders in the lowest level of "king of the night sun"?

Some trouble in the Hall of Hundred Heroes with levers.
In the room with 8 walls (7 plus door) I have tried the two combinations that add up to 8 (7+1 and 5+3) but I don't get the blue sparklies. The other rooms of the puzzle work fine.In the other rooms it does not seem to matter which number combo you use (if there is more than one). As long as the total is correct, it works. The top room, of course, has only one lever to throw for the correct sum.
Have I run into a bug, or is there some trick I'm missing? I've tried doing the rooms in different orders, but 8-wall room will not cooperate.

It's possible the Qvar could have broken. In the remaster, there should be a switch under the mask above the doorway to the room which will reset everything.

I'm aware that each room has a button just above the inside of the door which resets the levers for that room.
I've reset that for the room many times. I assume that is the switch you refer to.
The levers reset, but no sum 8 combo works.

Ah I'm not sure then. Might be a bug, I can't remember how it all works tbh. :laff:
Send me a save if you like and I can see if there's anything obviously broken.
