Something tells me the game doesn't like these guys for some reason. It should work correctly even though I think the AI mesh is the hi-poly one and I never tested with it.

I installed the new dark patch for Thief gold, and this fm crashed right away.
The thief.exe properties stated it was thief2.
I used tfix 1.13
Thief gold is installed, as it shows as gold in GL. Is there an fm selector for Thief gold when new dark patched like there is with T2 1.19 new dark when run from GL?

You can maybe try the built-in FM Selector that comes with NewDark, I've had reports of GarrettLoader derping quite a bit with NewDark Thief Gold. Try this (courtesy of DJ Riff who explains better than me):
Quote:
1. Make a copy of your Thief shortcut, Name it "Thief Gold FM Loader".
2. Open the shortcut's properties and add -fm to the text in the Target field. That's how it should look like:
D:\Games\ThiefG\thief.exe
modify to
D:\Games\ThiefG\thief.exe -fm
Then click OK to save changes.
3. Start the new shortcut. You'll be asked if you'd like to create the "FMs" folder. Click yes.
4. Suppress your greensy nature and click the small button with the gear icon on it. Select the "FM Archive Path..." and navigate to the folder where your Thief Gold fan-mission archives are located.
5. Select the FM in the list and click "Play FM".
There is also another solution that's not that different, but it's a bit more tedious since you have to modify a specific file each time you want to switch between the FM Selector and the game.

thank you for the suggestion, it does give the fm selector, and installs the fm.
I am still having thief launch and then show the main game screen , but all the buttons are blank....no NEW, No load, no Options, nothing.
Thief still crashes. I checked the shortcut with the -fm and no compatibility is set, not running as administrator.
Even if I get this to work, I am concerned that I am on Vista 32bit and Thief.exe, Thief2.exe needs to be run on on cpu, I have 2 cpu. GL willl do that for you, but with new dark for Thief installed, it blows up when launched in GL or outside of GL.
Any other suggestions, ideas? I would like to play fms made for T1/TG using New Dark.
I can enjoy new dark fms for Thief2 so far with no issue using the fm selector.
thank you

NewDark takes care of these core issues, so there should be nothing to worry about. Where is Thief Gold installed on your computer? Vista, 7 and 8 have issues with Thief when it is located in Program Files as far as I know.

new install of Thief Gold, 1.37 to c:\games\thiefg-newdark\
ran tfix 11.3
edited cam mod.ini
fm selector comes up, only sees 1 fm, tower of st. moira. darkwalls.zip and a few others are not seen be fm selector at all.
using GL to launch newest install of ThiefG with original ThiefG missions installed. following same practice as with Thief2 and fm selector, Thief2 install is clean/set to original missions.
I have gotten farther, but still stuck a little on getting this fm to be seen and played.

Weird that FMSel doesn't recognize darkwalls and other FMs as potentially playable FMs. Are you sure you pointed to the right FM archive folder?
Shadowcrawler on 9/3/2013 at 02:51
i copied it to another folder with the majority of my T1/TG fm's, and launched ThiefG new dark, the fm selector scanned and found it, then I could load it. Now at the difficulty selection screen.
Will let you know if I have any further issues or questions. thank you

I just finished this one on expert, at a measly 2950 loot though -- there's this area where a hammer priest is going in and out of a doorway with a tree in front of the door, and a exit off to one side that I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get to... and I've looped at it from every conceivable direction. Hoping I'm just missing something obvious.
