Hello! Currently playing thief gold again in RTC but this time Perfect thiefing it. Well I've noticed some strange things with this new patch. First of all, am I the only one to notice that the guards/monsters are more sensitive ? They react so fast, first alert very easy or even spot you when in the regular version they would'nt. And then more problematic, -which ruined my Ghost at certain occasions like in Song of the Caverns for one pickpocket (from a lady in a big room) I was unable to pick her without spotting me- some shadows seems to disappear or make me more visible... Right now in the Cathedral I had problems with the zombies because of it. It seems random though, but it needs to be very dark for my light gem to be complete black. Any thoughts ?

I've noticed precisely the same problem. I ended up having to do nudging in Bonehoard and Guild to manage to ghost my way through areas I was able to simply creep through in 1.37
I suspect it's partly due to light ranges being extended somewhat in the dark2 1.19 engine?

i noticed that.
but i love hardcore so i'm very satisfied with better AI's sensitive of 1.19.
that makes modern stealth game fans can't snort at old AI.

Well something is certainly different. Walking around a completely dark mission with NO light at all, if I equip a rope arrow I'm suddenly about 75% visible according to my light gem o_O Seems like a bit much... I'd expect that from a Fire arrow, not a rope one =/

I'm also into better AI sensitiveness, the problem relies on the shadows and the light gem. Sometimes Garrett is still visible when he normally shouldn't and that alone can ruin a Ghost/Full Loot. So there is not a way to get around that ?

I'm unaware of any configurable elements that could affect this but... save for modifying the level itself in dromed, probably not?
Then again could be 'fixed' in a future update to 1.19 (1.20?)
