When installing TFix there are options "Select Installation Type". I always choose full install box with dromed. Does choosing this option or other options cause problems when playing Fm's (ie crashing, lighting, texture issues, or broken scripts) ?

I this case yes. Had to look but yeah menu is different in TFix.

The reason i ask is because I'm playing Heist at Hilbert's Highrise Hotel Fm. I have Fog turned on in options but there is no fog in the fm. The only reason i know is because there is a sign in the sky to turn on fog. Makes me wonder if the selected options in the T2Fix or even TFix would cause problems in the missions. I have 1.27b installed on both disk and steam versions but no fog in either install.

At the beginning of the fm....if you look up in the sky....there is a sign to turn on fog. I told the author of the fm that the fog is not working and he said the fm has fog in it.......but it is NOT WORKING on my end. So, does the T2Fix effect the effects and other things ?

The selected components in T2Fix do not change any such effects. Fog is enabled or disabled in the game's options menu; if it is not working, it is likely a problem with your graphics card or video driver. Prior to troubleshooting this, you may want to disable any extra video features either by modifying cam_ext.cfg or running T2Fix again and ensuring the "Low" video preset is chosen.

I tried everything and there is nothing to effect fog in the cfg file. I run Linux with i3 and gt1030 for Thief. Thanks for the suggestions though.
