not to worry, after a clean install i was able to get my last save to load up and nothing was lost, so my only real complaint is the time lost to reinstall and patch the game. i'll use the texture pack the next time i play through from scratch so that i avoid trouble.

Thanks!
Will let you know if it works.

It worked!
I've noticed that all of the switches have become pale red / mauve blocks though.
Also, how do I turn off the violet eyes?

That depends if it's Alex D. or the other characters you're talking about.
If it's Alex D., you can open up the Cumulative Texture Pack's uninstaller(found in the game's root folder), and uninstall the Alex D. face(female if you play female, male if you play male). Then when that's done, open the Cumulative Texture Pack's installer, and install another Alex D. face, not biomodified this time.
If it's some of the
other characters that have purple/biomodified eyes, open the uninstaller as mentioned above, look for the
Biomodified NPCs entry, and uninstall it. I think you'll get a choice then if you want high res eyes, or go back to the game's original, default eyes. That should fix it.
Obviously - if
all main characters have biomodified eyes, you'll have to do all of the above.

My apologies for the thread necromancy, but John P.'s site appears to be down at the moment.
For the benefit of the community, I've submitted the DX:IW Unified Texture Pack to Filefront for hosting.
In the mean time you can download the texture pack from here:-

Thanks for hosting it elsewhere, however my site invariably goes down the last week or so of every month, because the bandwidth I'm paying for has been spent. The site will always be back up again the first day of the next month when that happens. :)
Just wanted to add that this is an old thread (from 2005 originally), and that the new 'Unified Texture Pack' that you'll find at my website (when I'ts not down...) includes Koif's (and other) textures, so there's no need to install more than this one pack anymore. The 'Cumulative Texture Pack' mentioned in this thread is "discontinued".
