Whilst I would like to think that Cyprus would be very happy were I to represent them in any field, indeed I hope that such an honour will be one day mine to prize, it was not I nor any I know.
Nonetheless, I'm not sure a band put together for a Eurovision entry really counts as "taken" - especially since it's "Jon Lilygreen and the Islanders", whilst we would just be "Islanders" but whatever. I still don't think it's a great name, but I don't think this is the reason. Usable, perhaps.

At the very least, you have a great excuse to dump that name if you want to. A band name should be more than just serviceable. Islanders is a bit 60s folk scene, isn't it?
Runaway Jack is definitely an improvement, although Runaway Tank would be even better.

This is true. And it is a bit old fasioned; also similar to current group Villagers.
I've added the rest of the tracks and put the lot up for download. It's free (to the first 500 downloaders if I understand it correctly, although that shouldn't be a problem for a while...), but RUNAWAY CAPITALISM enticed me to check the "let fan name price" box. I don't expect any of you guys to put anything but zero in there, more for friends and family who want to show support.

I think another thing is that I'm better in a live situation where I can hear everything, I had a lot of trouble getting a good level in headphones where I could hear enough of the track, and myself, and still judge whether I was singing too loudly, etc. But yeah, it's got some way to go.
Ooh, I wasn't aware of Islands. That does almost completely rule out Islanders.

Your link to play the songs no longer works for me. It did before so WTF? I get the site fine but no clicky arrow worky. Maybe it's not that nobody has tried? Hell, my photo album gets 500 hits everytime I post a thumbnail around here so I don't think it's because ttlgers aren't nosey. Maybe you should have some naked pics on the site then? They work fine for me, but I had to turn off AdBlockPlus for the page.
