So i've been dabbling a little in the Construction Set - to create a nice "Robe Of L337ness" for myself. So I create my nice enchanted robe and a decent enchanted ebony shortsword for a bit of fun, and now i've realised it's made it a bit too easy - a bit like when you get the "Robe of St Roris". So, first question is...
1. Am I safe to delete a plugin, even if it's in use? Will the game adjust? If not, is there any way to delete objects in the game - just to get rid of them from the save file?
I then decide that it'd be better to just make them in the game manually - via enchantment. So I go pick the best robe I can find (exquisite), buy the relevent spells, hop along to the nearest Mage's Guild - and the bastard robe doesn't have enough enchantment points. So back into the Construction Set to make my "Robe Of L337ness +1", and for some bizarre reason, all the textures are gone when I go to assign them to the new object. "Strange", I think, so I go to a normal object to find the path for the textures, and it's gone there too. So, second question is...
2. Where the hell are all the textures? What path do I use?
I've tried a re-install of the CS, to no avail. And it's pissing me off now, because I can't do anything in the CS. Grumble grumble... :erk:
Cheers in advance,
Stainboy.

1. errr, welll.... removing plugins which are used by the save sometimes removes them properly but sometimes creates errors.
2. They come in the compressed .bsa files. To get the uncompressed ones, copy all the stuff in the data files folder in your Construction Set CD into your installation folder, then you can select the stuff.

Make sure you're not carrying any items that are in the plugin when you remove it, or you'll get a weight problem. It's fixable, but annoying.

ACT: Regarding question 2 - shouldn't the game do this manually? At least it must have when I first started - is there an option somewhere or value in the config that I can change to make it happen again? I'll give it a go anyway. :)

by default the game only installs the archive, to save space. The uncompressed ones are on cd2, if you copy them across to your morrowind\data files\ folder the game & CS uses the uncompressed files over the archive by default. You can then select these textures etc.
Using the archive, you can't do stuff such as select textures even if they're in the archive etc. - I dunno what happens if you put CD2 in the drive though, it might make them available from there.

w00! Solution FOUND! As hinted, you actually need CD2 in the drive for the relevant textures to be present - they're actually on the CD itself. Simple solution, really - just never thought of it. :)
