hey ppls, i just started getting into the construction set thing, and well.... im not getting very far, a simple thing as in changing how much cash a merchant has.... well thats meant to be simple isnt it? so yea i load it and stuff but the guy still has the same amount of cash.. or do u need commas? well yea help appreciated and if anyone knows of like a guide with getting started that would be much appreicated.

First of all, make certain that you are altering the merchant’s ‘barter’ gold not merely the amount of gold in his/her inventory. If you are not certain how to do that, go to the click on the ‘AI’ bottom and then select trader service. It will be somewhere on the screen.
Even if you do that correctly, you may not see a change in the merchant’s barter gold in game If you are testing your changes with a current (saved) game, any merchant that you have already visited will not be affected by your mod’s changes (the original reference data will not be updated through a mod). The only way around that problem (other than starting a new game) is to ‘clean’ your save of the merchant reference data using a Morrowind utility like (
http://wrye.ufrealms.net/) Wrye Mash (near bottom of page). I am not certain the extent to which that will affect your reference data with that merchant. The inventory may be reset as well as disposition toward the player. Always back up your saved games before cleaning!
[I am assuming that you have selected your mod to load with the master files and other plug-ins under data files on Morrowind’s load screen.]

hey well thanks, but i realized something else u would have to like wait 24 hours in the game for the merchants stuff to update, so im gonna do that and if that dont work well ill check out wat ur saying, and yes i loaded the master file.
