So here it is... weapons that exceed a certain amount of shots in a short time get their sounds cut off. Does this happen to anyone else? It breaks immersion greatly for me, so I never use the assault rifle anymore. I'll do just about anything to fix it(apart from lowering the ROF for the AR), but I guess if it's hard coded then I'm out of luck.

It's a mod you're using.

Well, I can't think of anything I've added could have effected sound playback. My mods consist of; Secmod 101, rebirth(+complimented), shtup, a few custom models, and my custom sounds. That's all I can remember at the moment, I'll try a vanilla run though.
:edit: Heh, a vanilla run is turning out to be not so simple. Made SS2 mod ready and patched it(ss2 tool & widescreen), but it still crashes after loading the first career choice.

and my custom sounds.
You've just listed your own most likely problem.

Apparently, assault rifle sounds cannot exceed 600ms or you get this issue.

What an easy fix! Positively HUGE thanks for helping me guys :thumb:. This has been bugging me for years lol. My sounds were already at 650ms i didn't think it would be a problem.

Over the course of YEARS, it never once occured to you that your assault rifle sound problem might be caused by your custom assault rifle sounds?
:nono:

We all make mistakes and sometimes the most obvious ones are the hardest to spot...what am I saying here! Lunacinense, get your shit together! ;)

Well Zylon, I hope not to be THAT dimwitted. It was a simple mistake of assuming no matter what sound I use.. the same results occur. But I surprise myself with my stupidity :o. I used the default sounds as a base to have their exact output, but length just didn't register. But absentmindedness happens to be a distinct trait of brilliance and of my family hehe :joke:. So you never know Kolya!
