do you mean the Hall Of Mirrors (HOM) effect you get when you look through a BSP-Hole at subtracted space?
No, sparklies are the shimmering white lines you get along BSP cuts, when the two polys don't quite touch each other. They are caused by mathematical errors either in the engine or the graphics drivers.

Hmmm.... And I was wondering what this strange shimmering line on the ground at the beggining of The Blue Heron Inn was... Now I know. (BTW, I have Radeon 9800 Pro.)
