no way.. it's not gonna work.. i'd lik eto run terra nova from windows, since it's not easy to get my soundcard working under dos [to be honest, it's nearly impossible <IMG SRC="devil.gif" border="0"> ]
so i've come to ask fellow soldiers if someone managed to actally run terra nova from windows ?

I have!
Create a shortcut to the TN .EXE file. Goto the shortcuts properties.
Under PROGRAM click "Advanced" and click select Prevent MSDOS programs from detecting windows. Un-select everything else.
Under MEMORY select Protected, Initial environment 4096, EMS Memory 16384, XMS Memory 16384, DPMI Memory 16384.
Thats all I had to do. If it doesnt work with you, try playing around with the memory amounts a little.
**THIS WORKED FOR ME! I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE DONE TO YOUR COMPUTER (I DOUBT ANYTHING BAD WOULD HAPPEN THOUGH)**

Shadowcat,
you need to update those links you put for UBB 6.0 -- all them are invalid.. ;)
(

basically, the replace the 'somenumber' in t=somenumber with the the 'somenumber'.html in your links you posted.

hm.. i've realized that the problems i'm facing are probably caused by the soundcard.. my sb.live doesen't work with dos games, but it works with some audio software.. eg fasttacker.. strange, isn't it?
do you instal liveware shit, or do you use an third-party drivers? sincet it's pci card you gotta use at least something i guess..

hmm... the standard drivers on offer have worked fine for me in dos and windows. I'm using Liveware 3, and it all pretty much just worked.
The only thing that ever caused me problems was IRQ conflicts for the SB16/AWE32 emulation for DOS games. Look at:
Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager -> Creative Miscellaneous Devices -> Creative SB Live! SB16 Emulation.
If there's a conflict or the emulation is otherwise not working, I think it will show up here. I disabled the printer (as I have none) to get mine working I believe. I might have had to fiddle with IRQ settings in the process, but I don't remember the details.
The Settings page under properties will give you the numbers you need for any DOS games that require manual sound card configuration.
I imagine (

I cant even get Terra Nova run at all, consider urself lucky. I tried pressing f8 at bootup and running it from the command line, still didnt work, whaddayaknow, invalid error. I also tried fooling around with the momory, no luck at all.
Any suggestions?
