Terra Nova not quite noobie - by Pvt. Grey

Hello!
Well I am buying Terra Nova from Ebay. I will probably get it for about $7 shipping and all. I just wanted to say that reading this forum is what inspired me to buy it again after all these years. Everyone here seems very helpful and mature. I originally bought the game when it came out but did'nt know much about computer games except for Doom. Terra Nova was just too complex for me then. Skip ahead several years and I realize how far ahead of its time it was! I long to play it and am glad I found this community that is still iterested in this fine game.
I do have one noobie question though. What is the highest resolution that the game can achive on todays rigs? I am sure I will have more in the future but just wanted to say hello.

Hello Grey, glad to have you with us (and happy to hear that this forum inspired the re-purchase :)
The good news is that Terra Nova supported a higher resolution than Doom did (originally, at least :). The bad news is that it's not all that high anymore. The two options are 320x200 and 320x400, and you should go to the options screen ("o") and make the change when you start the game. You'll also want to set the terrain detail to "excellent", as by default it's one notch down from this.
Note that the graphics settings are only stored in saved games, so if you're not loading a saved game (e.g. you load it up just to play around in the random mission generator) then you'll want to change these options each time.
