Hasn't anybody noticed how much bungie's HALO looks like Terra Nova?

Heavy Gear II also had many common elements with Terra Nova, at least in the setting and plot elements. The planet was called Terra Nova for instance, and Earth was attempting to conquer it. Additionally it was an elite squad that you were a member of that foiled the Earthers plot, piloting motorized armor suits.
I'd wondered if the makers were in some way making an homage to Terra Nova.

Tribes 2 is very much a Terra Nova/Team Fortress crossbreed.

The Heavy Gear games are based on an existing game system and related fiction... powered battle armour wasn't a Looking Glass original idea of course, and a game that features the player as the leader of an elite squad... well... I don't think I need to spend time counting how many of _those_ there are :) :)
So all in all I'd say it's unlikely that there's a connection. Still, it would be nice to think that there are TN fans developing other games, and getting inspiration from LG's classic!
Tribes is certainly a more likely choice for a TN-inspired game, especially with the three suit types and associated features and restrictions.
As for Halo, I know very little about it. I guess any squad-based outdoor combat game with jet-packs will draw comparisons, though :)

Unreal 2.
Trooper guys in mecha suits as in TN.
Romping across expansive terrain, commanding a squad, dropped off to your mission from your dropship.
Some paralells, at least.

"Giants: Citizen Kabuto" gives me often flashbacks to Terra Nova while playing as the Meccs.
Five star game, by the way, in my opinion.

I agree wholeheartedly with, uh, that shadowy figure in the corner who I can't quite make out...
"Giants" is an utterly wonderful game. And yes I had a few Terra Nova-like feelings playing it. Mostly a very different feel, though... I don't recommend it as a TN-alike, but I very highly recommend it as a damn fun game.
