Yep, it is on the short side, but it's definitely still fun :) I'm glad you got it working!!
Don't overlook the random mission generator, though -- I've spent many many hours in intense battles using that. Death Valley is my favourite setting.
You can go in with big guns blazing, or just regular weaponry; a full squad, or solo; and you can adjust the opponents as well. And you HAVE to try the cheats -- instant reload with unlimited ammo is always fun :)
The mission generator interface isn't all it could be, but I find it adds tremendously to the replay value of the game.
