I have nothing much to say that others haven't eloquently put out there, so I'll just reiterate this: never be afraid to talk to your wife, after all if you don't talk to her then who the heck can you talk to?
I wish you all the best, fett.

Best of luck Fett. What has been said in this thread... I would also echo what was said about considering seeing a therapist for the depression. Having a third party to talk to can really help, especially if you're having troubles talking things through with your wife.

Remember all those rough patches of life you've ALREADY gone thru ? Well they don't end. Good thing is, for most of us there are more good patches than bad.
how you take on those patches ( talking, posting, venting, therapist, not talking)
is up to you. you will be fine & hopefully come back to a good patch of road soon. best wishes.

Well, shit keeps getting better. Doc adjusted my meds, so now my body is rebelling and doing all sorts of weird things. On top of that, my shitty prescription coverage tells me I've reached the limit on what they'll pay for drugs this year so it's all out of pocket from here on (that'll be about $900 between now and December - hang on, let me pull that out of my ass...). That pretty much wrecks the first Christmas where we were actually going to be able to buy presents. Fuck.
It also appears I have carpal tunnel syndrome in my right hand (wide open here guys, don't let me down), which means no playing of guitars for the foreseeable future. Hmmm, that means canceling about 12 gigs - that'll go over well, and hell, who needs THAT money, right? It would have payed for the meds 4x over. Playing music is about the only release I get these days, but fuck that.
Still having good days and bad and I think my the meds are screwing with my hormones cause I feel like a whiny teenager. Talked to my wife as much as possible but I don't think she knows what to say or do - we have this odd thing going on because she's the breadwinner, so if anything comes down to money (like the meds), she feels like she's not doing enough (she's doing all she can).
In short, fuck the U.S. healthcare system. If you don't think it needs fixing, thank whatever god you pray to that you're a healthy or wealthy motherfucker because it's a goddamn nightmare for anyone who isn't.

fett, FWIW my wife and I are in similar roles only flipped... she has a condition that causes her enormous amounts of stress (and yelling fuck the healthcare system from both of us). She has some serious therapy that our coverage just said "oops sorry no more" with... something she needs once a week. Of course they only tell you that when you hit the limit.
I feel for you man... hang in there.

fett, I've heard of programs that can help pay for your meds, whether its the pharmaceutical companies, or some other agency. Not sure if you've heard of that or not, it might be worth a look. Can't hurt. Good luck man.

I checked AARP but you have to be over 50 (because, you know, everyone under 50 is healthy). I'm still trying to check with Medicare. My Medicare situation is odd too - I get the maximum amount for my age range, based on previous income. Still, it's not enough to pay for meds (and far, far from enough to live on) but the status exempts me from all Medicaid supplements and most Medicare supplement plans for procedures and prescriptions. I'm going to see if anything has changed since the last time I checked. It galls me that I have to be on Medicare to begin with, and I feel like a shit for trying to get more money out of them.
I'm seriously considering the drug trade. I can work from home, it's all tax free cash, and there's considerable job security.

fett,
The following links lists different programs you can look into. Check it out! There is the Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPARx), and the RxAssist Patient Assistance Program Center. Might be worth a look. It list various programs, check it out.
