(
http://wired.com/wired/archive/14.11/sixwords.html) Wired article on authors creating a story in six words.
Personally, I find the idea ludicrous and the most that can really be achieved is an image like Frank Miller's, or a meta-joke like Alan Moore's. I must admit I'm surprised by the lack of ingenuity of some of the entries. Marc Laidlaw's second entry gave me a chuckle, for a computer game writer he was more original than most of them!
Bizarrely, my favourite is probably Ken MacLeod's effort -

There's something simple but very deep about it, you instantly begin to construct your own story around the words. I suppose that's the best you can attempt to achieve with such a small canvas.
As an entertaining subthread, create your own!
My serious entry: "The sun set, and never returned."
My joke entry: "Epitaph: I couldn't find the words."

Well, I nearly had an idea.

"Epitaph: I couldn't find the words."
"Isn't that, like, seven words ?"
My entry : "I came full circle, now what ?"
"I always run out of words"

Contractions aren't counted as two words. ;)
