First off I did a quick search of the topics and did not find my problem so if it is already out there my apologies for making another topic about the same thing.
As per the usual request my system specifications are as follows.
Microsoft Windows XP Professional - Version 2002 - Service Pack 3
Mobile AMD Sempron (tm) Processor 3800+ - 2.19 GHz
896 MB of RAM
ATI Radeon X1250 - 128.0 MB
The edition of Thief is the Sold Out Software version which had Thief 1 on one side of the disc and Thief 2 on the other.
Not sure if you need anything else?
The problem I am having is that games install fine and they run okay through the introduction but once I get to the title screen you can hear the mechanical noise of the background image but the screen is black. Then after a second or two the game crashes taking me back to the desktop with just the error screen saying that the game encountered an error and shut down and if I would like to send a report to Microsoft?
I have tried removing the game and reinstalling and have tired running in all available compatibility modes with no success.
Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Thanks for the reply, time for an update.
I downloaded the DDfix patch and then the relevant executable for both Thief 1 and Thief 2 and extracted them accordingly.
However now when I try to run the game it says 'invalid resolution in cam.cfg' , any further advice? It does this for both games.

Open your cam.cfg file with notepad. Look for this line and manually and put in the correct numbers.
game_screen_size 1280 1024

I assume I replace those numbers for whatever the resolution is that I am currently running my own screen at?
EDIT
I opened the file and all that was in there was the following.
; $Header: r:/prj/cam/src/RCS/cam.cfg 1.14 1998/09/23 20:00:41 mahk Exp $
; hey, which game is this
game dark
; general configs

editor_include_dromed_cfg dromed.cfg
; game specific paths/configs
dark_include_install_cfg install.cfg
shock_resname_base r:\prj\shock\art\finals
; set trait cache to include concretes

Just bumping this as I have not heard anything more and am still looking for advice on getting these games running on my laptop.
