I thought his Michael Jackson analogy was just fine. Your rationale is 100% bullshit. It's understandable bullshit, but it's still bullshit. Just because you came out alright doesn't mean this poor kid, or any other poor kid who's ever been subjected to this kind of humiliation, isn't going to turn out fucked up with a severely stunted ability to determine the truth or think for themselves- they'll be so afraid to "think different" that they'll just march in lockstep with whatever's the "correct" view for fear of being humiliated again.
Orwell would be proud.

I think that a truly neutral discussion of current politics is quite impossible, in a classroom or elsewhere. So the point was that I learned to appreciate honesty in these things.
I'm sure your teachers believed they were giving you the relevant truth, just as Ms. Harris believed she was doing.
The political indoctrination of 10 year old kids is never justified even if you think they are being given the "correct" political view.

That's a pretty short clip, but that teacher should have tried a little hard to be more impartial. A controlled discussion and an injection of facts would be wonderful.

Oh cut it out - you know what I mean.
Not sure I do. But I'll take that as suggesting you didn't mean to have a go at modern-day German education, and that it just came out wrong. Ok.
Edit: Right, got it then - the rest wasn't addressed to me.

His rationale for the teacher's behavior being ok is that similar things happened to him too and he's just fine. [...]
Is the rest of the post in response to me, as well? Because you don't need to explain this stuff to me. If you backtrack a bit to page one you'll find that, as far as the actual topic of the thread goes, I'm in agreement with you, not Kolya.

Yeah, sorry. That second quote was aimed at Koyla...:( I've corrected it for clarity for future generations.
