What's wrong is there's a startlingly high percentage of fucking batshit Muslims running around in that neck of the woods.
That percentage, incidentally, is all the west ever seems to hear about these days, giving us a rather distorted picture of Islam as a whole.
Good thread topic, by the way. TTLG needs more news discussion threads.
Actually, the media have been very clear that UK muslim groups have been fast to condemn it and speak out, saying that the ruling is complete rubbish. Which it is.

Why do I always have to hear 'the media said they did', and never hear it from themselves.

Meanwhile our's {I heard on an unidentified radio station today, when I was searching for R4} is calling for all Teddy Bears in the UK to be called Mohammed in support of the Khartoum One.
For some strange reason, teddy bears are a popular give-away and having a number of leftover, unwanted teddy bears, I have now renamed them all Muhammed. The female ones objected, of course, so they were given the option of being called K One or Gillian instead.
On a serious note though, I can't really imagine how truly awful being imprisoned over there must be. (
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/7120615.stm) This report doesn't make for happy reading.
And what seems so stupid is that, as (
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7115821.stm) this shows
Quote:
Dilwar Hussain, of the Islamic Foundation, has no problem with a teddy bear called Muhammad. For some years, the Islamic Society sold a soft toy made for British Muslim children named Adam the Prayer Bear. "Adam is also the name of a Prophet."

What the hell? You want them to deliver a note to every house or just come round and see you personally to apologise?

Of course not, neither would I expect the media did, but they do. If they truly rejected it, they could make a much bigger point by making a point rather then answering the questions scared journalists ask them.

There may be more obvious reasons, but I'll be kind and say perhaps you haven't been listening to BBC Radio 4's Today programme all this week where they made it quite clear.

Yeahyeah I know, they really got you by the balls throwing it on religion didn't they? It's blackmail and you know it, worst part is that the UK will pay.

You're right. I'm clearly not listening to the voice of reason. Lead on.

If you would kindly allow me, you know the UK is about to cut aid in half, and no, that isn't something that just recently hadged, has something to do with genocide on the dinka tribes a few years ago in south sudan, they don't like that. What is obviously a game of power politics you interpret as some sort of game with a teacher and her teddybear, are you guys really that naive?
