afaik the public hair thing is to do with ideas about hygiene.
I'll wager that many religious and state leaders (and just about everyone actually) had very young wives back in the day SD. That we have different ideas about it now is not a reflection on the practice. If you were around then you'd have done the same.
I'd
at least have the decency to wait until they start bleeding.

No you wouldn't.

You could always punch them in the nose until they bleed.

Is hyperbole the new normal around here, or what?
I WANT MY OLD INTERNET BACK, DAMMIT :(
Actually I think you will find that
use of the word hyperbole is the new normal around here. Examples that may be found are: you are standing on my hyperbole sir, could you please point your hyperbole in another direction, and would all you hyperbolic twits please STFU.

Well, I won't speak for other instances, but this:

it's obvious random killing is supported by most societies. From genocides to terrorism, blind killing is commonly supported and considered as a justified.
is as hyperbole as it gets.

Is there another way to take "Many cultures like going to war to collect treasure and wimminz. Take America for example."? Perhaps you meant the history of exploiting and exploring America for riches and not current US conflicts which have an element of possible though unrealized riches but are mostly ideological at base?
It was a bit tongue in cheek (the America reference) and in hindsight I can see it may be offensive to Americans (and sorry if it was).

To get back to actual discussion, how does civil disobedience and a view toward world community and a non crazy future fit in to this notion of let them be idiots if it works for them? What if you fear insanity wont die out on it's own but spread? Speak out and die? Stay silent and hope? If crazy works go crazy?
Well I don't personally subscribe to much of the arguments I put forward there but I disagree with the assumptions underlying many people's beliefs which may well be parallel to my own. Hence I wish to debate on the side of moral relativism.

Sure, why not? If it's voluntary, who is it gonna hurt?
Well in the American culture, for example, it was decided that voluntary polygamy was immoral and should be outlawed.

At face value I love the idea of polygamy, but my wife most certainly does not. An American anthropologist by the name of Philip Kilbride has gone to great lengths to explain why polygamy would be
good for society.
I don't necessarily agree but it's food for thought regardless.

To sum it up, it's great for the progression of the human race. If the brilliant, handsome men each score a bunch of wives so the inbred genetic freaks don't, then natural selection will work its magic and pretty soon the inbred genetic freaks are gone and most of humanity becomes the superhuman types.

Yeah, cultures generate plenty of weird ideas. As a result, they like to fuck around with all sorts of things without actually providing a solid ethical basis for doing so. Who does it harm?
