This stuff goes from bad to worse to just mad. So this woman has been convicted of insulting religion for allowing her class to name a teddy bear Mohammed and sentenced to 15 days in prison then deportation.
And now there are calls for the death sentence by members of the public.

Guys, what is wrong with the world? :(

What's wrong is there's a startlingly high percentage of fucking batshit Muslims running around in that neck of the woods.
That percentage, incidentally, is all the west ever seems to hear about these days, giving us a rather distorted picture of Islam as a whole.
Good thread topic, by the way. TTLG needs more news discussion threads.

goin out on the lash is hardly a good example to set for her pupils

Whats so fucked up is that if the situation was reversed and a muslim teacher had allowed her class to name a teddy bear Jesus there`d have been no uproar at all. No`one would have cared at all. Its just a name, get over it. Its only a insult against religion if the intent is there to do that, which there wasn`t.

I've been following this. What happened was that there was some kind of competition to name the teddy bear. A small boy called Muhammed won and asked to name it after himself. An (

The report here says that another member of staff complained. Other reports say it was parents. Its quite ludicrous whatever.

Bomb/gun every hate rally that assembles, that'll solve that problem after the first 2-3 times it happens.

I don't think it is directly related with Islam or even religion in general. Religion is the excuse, not the cause. When I was in French Guyana, there was a few times when we were ordered to stay inside because the situation with the local population was volatile. In this case, the excuse was the idea of being a victim of some kind of imperialism. When I was a kid, I remember there was regular fights between our school and another one. In this case, the excuse was language (we were French speaking and they were English speaking).

Distorted, certainly, but nevertheless important. It's the batshit crazies who are the most vocal though (just like at TTLG lol hey my post count isn't
that high stfu) and what concerns is that if people keep going on about issues then people who matter notice iyswim.
And in this case this woman has actually been convicted so regardless of how few people are really nutters out there a fair few of them are in the government and/or legal system. THAT is scary.

Fucks sake. It's not like she named a turd mohammed, or someone's penis. Whats wrong with a teddy bear?
Actually, she didn't even name it, did she? Some kid did. Way to not look at all like a nation of psychos, Sudan.

Of course the whole thing's completely mad, But if nothing else she's guilty of excessive naiveity. Not the whole CallingATeddyBearMohammedThing by itself, but thinking that The Sudan would be a good career break. The Sudan.
Personally I felt that the gaoling of 15 days and then a swift deportation was a desperate attempt to find an easy way out by the Sudanese Govt. Probably to avoid drawing attention to all of it's other problems, such as Dharfhur. But of course every society has it's lunatic fringe and Sudan's is currently calling for her excecution.
Meanwhile our's {I heard on an unidentified radio station today, when I was searching for R4} is calling for all Teddy Bears in the UK to be called Mohammed in support of the Khartoum One.
Thank God {or whoever} the Muslim Council of Gt Britain were quick to disassociate itself from the whole thing.
