Thanks loony, great tips! :D
I got the most skill with short blades so I sold my axe and got a short sword, also been using some daggers and it works pretty good.
btw, is there any merchant that has more then 1000 cash near Balmora? I stole this gem-thingy from the Mages Guild(which I also joined) worth 2000 bucks, but all the traders dont have any more money than about 700. There's also a thingy worth 60 000 in the Mages Guild, completely unguarded. There's no way they can discover later on if I steal it, is there?

Those gems are called... Soul Gems! But don't think you're insanely rich. As far as I know, no one buys soul gems. Or atleast, not anywhere close to their value.
You use soul gems to enchant items with spells. There's an enchanter in the Mages Guild (DON'T EVER use the enchater in the Balmora Mages guild... Why? Because you stole from her. They'll attack you if you try to enchant with any gem of the same type that you stole. That make sense?).
There are several different options when enchanting...
On Strike - Only weapons can be enchanted with this. Everytime you hit an enemy with your weapon, the magic you enchanted actives. (Ex.: Fire Damage, Frost Damage, Poison, etc.) I believe healing spells and the like will also effect the enemy and not you, so be careful.
On Use - When you select the item from the Magic Items list (under your spells), then use it like other magic items. Good for amulets/rings (I recommend an amulet of Mark and Recall, and Soul Trap. One amuet or ring for each.)
Constant Effect - This is only available when you use a Grand Soul Gem or Azuras Soul Gem with the soul of a Golden Saint or Ascended Sleeper. The selected spell will constantly effect your character, instead of having a time limit. (Ex.: Restore Health, Raise Strength... )
Those are it in a nutshell. I wish I could remember better... But I really can't. There is "On Self" where your spell affects yourself, "On Touch" where you must be within striking range of your enemy to effect them with the enchantment and then use the item, and "On Target", which is a long range form of a spell (fire damage will be dealt with a fireball, for example.)
Gosh, I really do hope that all made sense...

Vendors:
I believe the potion lady next to the clother (near the manors) in Balmora has 3000, but I doubt she buys soul gems. There is someone in Calandra with 5000, and Calandra is not so far if you're in the mage's guild ;)
See, I made myself a mod and gave the Kajit pawnbroker in Balmora something like 500,000 gold, so I could go and actually sell stuff I get, cause the best you're gonna get is a vendor with 5000, so it's almost stupid to find stuff valued at close to 100,000, when even at higher levels the best you can hope for is a little over half it's value, it's still better than keeping something you won't ever use or selling it for the max value of 5000. But that's just my personal approach to the money system on Morrowind :)
If you want to play "legit" as I used to do before I smartened up, and you have a decent merchantile, personality and speechcraft, do something like this:
1) Go to the 5000 vendor. Sell him a bunch of stuff till you clean him out (especially armor valued at under 1000)
2) Rest for I think 24 hours (or go out and get more stuff) and he'll have his 5000 again.
3) Repeat steps one and two as necessary.
4) Now you should have a boat load of cash and he should have a bunch of fairly pricy items. Buy everything back from him. Now he's got all the money you had plus his 5000.
5) Now sell him whatever big item you need to sell.
6) Now if you're overloaded, rest till he's got money again and start selling again. If you're not, take whatever armor you can to the Armorer next door, he's usually got a fair amount of money.
As I said, this is the way I did things with my first two characters, then I realized how little fun the exercise is, so I made my mod (only took about 15 minutes to make the mod and I had no experience at that time, the tools are simple) So follow those steps or make a mod, or just keep everything, who needs money anyway? ;)
As far as enchanting goes, I should mention a few things:
1) You can only enchant something (or have someone enchant something for you) with spells you've learned. And unfortunately there's no way to Unlearn spells. So if you're like me, you buy a helmet, you learn water breathing, you enchant the helmet so it's water breathing constant effect, then you have no use for water breathing, but you still have to scroll through it anyway, when you're looking for that perfect heal spell :(... But I digress...
2) Enchanting is freaking expensive! Even with my being able to sell stuff for 10 of thousands of dollars, I'm still struggling to keep enough money to finally enchant my robe to Constant Effect Fortify Endurance to counter my crossbow that has drain endurance (along with fortify marksman and agility). So yeah, it's really expensive, so don't plan on it till much later in the game.
Hey, I got my own question about Enchanting come to think of it. Why is it when I put the Water Breathing effect on a helmet (on self) there's an option for Area? Isn't that typically for like Fire spells, to say they'll damage anything within a certain area?

There is a way to 'unlearn' spells. You can delete them from your list. On the XBox version, it tells you which button to press. On the PC it's a bit harder... I forgot how to do it though, heh.

I think it was white on xbox (though this is just a guess). Shift click or shift right click, don't remember which for computer.

Concerning vendors:
In Caldera there's Creeper who's got 5000 and buys almost anything for the full price.
On one of the small islands east of Vivec there's (

is a mudcrab) who buys for 10,000.
