I have a question about the situation in the Wan Chai tea house, where the Red Arrow member threatens the owner, Ian Hilton.
I remember that several years ago, I found quite an interesting internet site with a description of lots of different ways of playing Deus Ex. The site was dedicated to describing alternate solutions for all (or most) of the situations in Deus Ex.
At that site, there was talk of a different way in dealing with the tea house situation. I can't remember it exactly, however.
From what I believe to recall is it was said that one can actually remedy the rat situation and get Ian Hilton to thank one for it.
Also, one can report the Red Arrow or the Chinese Military Officer down at the stairs to Officer Tam somehow and / or get a deal with the corrupt Officer himself.
I remember doing something like that at that time, and it worked, but I don't know if I am correct about my remembrance. I think it involved something extraordinary, like not being seen by certain characters in certain situations etc. .
Could someone confirm this or point the site (or a very similar one) out?
I recall finding that site by pure coincidence, it did not involve the phrase "deus ex" at all (I believe), and would have been very hard to find if searched for in "normal" ways. (I've already tried doing the things mentioned and searching for the site, as I started playing Deus Ex again, but to no avail. )
