Thanks very much for the help Lord Taffer. For most of those I figured that was the case.
I have to give credit with the ingenuity in regards to the first scroll I mentioned. I stared at that roof for quite a while without seeing it, and then I thought: "Hang on... it's like that for a reason, ainnit?"
As to the floating one... I meant the Mage's personal diary. It's a funny place to store it, but Mages are weird.
And one final question: In my delvings in the northeast section I can swear I came across a room filled with lava and a vendor sign visible in the far left corner, up against the wall. I took one look at this room, said "I'll come back later"... and now I can't find it again. Am I losing my mind here?

I think you might be talking about the area that is marked with
'?' in the map and here the low levels/ground levels should have the vendor sign against the wall. This place is the only one I have in my right now, but this place is south.
One other idea you might be talking about, is this place in NE areas:

Mefix:
1. There's no access here, and there shouldn't really be any loot. If there is, it's beyond me because I just checked.
2. That thief's hideout isn't accessible.
3. No secrets here, just a bit awkward design.

coin in the water in the tower for the corridor piece of loot.

Has anyone figured out how to open the
portcullis down in the lava river that below and to the east of
Sir Darklons place..? Also where is the bloody key to
Sir Darklons place. And lastly tried finding a way into
the museumNope, its a shaft with ladder and portcullis
to the right of the museum

Updating!
Save is at 2 hours and 4600 loot. Actual time spent probably around 4 hours.
And I haven't even touched the SW corner of the map. This truly fulfills the fantasy of a cramped cityscape layered on top of ruins, previous cities and mad experiments. Feels like Lord Taffer had 5 different levels worth of ideas and, in a drunken haze, made the jigsaw of their pieces fit together over the last year. Outstanding map and I'm excited to see what the final loot total will be.
The number of times I have been walking a path and see a branch, make a note of if and then another branch pops up, and another... I would love to see the editor view of this map.

Bikerdude, portcullis by the lava river is only openable from the otherside. The museum is the place to go. Search higher areas, especially the roofs close to the museum and its proximity and you will find a way.

Can I have some hint please about how to open the little safe door on the side of the tomb above lava pit in the museum? It has something to do with the brazier in front of the gargoyle, a scull or something, but I can't open it
I guess I don't need a hint after all... there is a switch in the general vicinity of the main hall...

Turns out that was the very last hint I needed to finish this mission, I found the skull but had no idea what to do with it and missed the little tomb on top of the main hall gazebo (or rather, the vent leading there). The mage's floating scroll suggested the azure was in Darklon's funhouse and I ended up turning the entire place upside down looking for it, though I at least got the bonus objectives out of that!
