Afternoon
This subject has been discussed in the past, but as gfx cards, drivers, game updates, OS versions have all changed/updated I thought I would broach the subject again....
Im playing TDS - "The Valley" and I have notices some stutter/jitter in certain area's or certain viewing angles. An example is the area where your on the walkway above the green flame looking toward the area with scaffolding. If I look down/up as I walk towards (no jitter), but if I look straight ahead I get a bit of stutter/jitter that can be seen in the stones infront-below the player...
TDS settings:
Resolution -1 (so its running @ 1680*1050)
Widescreen patch
nvidia 0xAA & same in game
nvidia 0xAniso & same in game
V-sync set to on nvidia/in-game (oitherwise I cant climb anything)
My system:
Core2Duo 8400@3.6GHZ
DDR2800@4-4-4-12
8800Ultra@684/1576/1008
intell X38 based mobo
So as you can see I shouldnt be getting any stutter/jitter. Can I assume its possibly down to the fact that the max number of objects/lightsources/textures are in view..? Dropping the res helps but dosent eliminate it completly. I have noted in the past that doing a fresh install of TDS can help with graphical anomolies, same here we think..?
I noted when TDS first came out that my then card 7800GT, TDS wasnt able to cope @ anything above 1280*1024 0xAA and 0xAniso and mentioned that perhaps the game was badly coded and would need a much more powerful gfx card to get around said bloated code - well how much more power does this bloody game need like..:cheeky:
Im just sounding off etc, so opinions welcome.
