You're right! The first time
I was busy trying to escape from all those creatures while carrying the anex. Plus, the gamma slider in the options didn't do anything, so certain areas appeared a little too dark during the whole mission. (I've just managed to fix this by enabling software-based gamma and color processing in cam_ext.cfg.) Thank you!

I have the same problem in this mission with readables . I assumed it was perhaps because of an incorrect set-up of my system or because it's an old computer and Win7. :(

yes, this is a known issue in the original (1.0) release of the mission. it happens when a mod installs a new font (such as the antialiased ones, i believe) for the 'parch' book type. in version 1.1 of the mission, this has been fixed so the problem does not occur.
you can manually fix it in the 1.0 version of the mission, if you need to, by deleting the 'parch' subfolder in the fm's 'books' folder.

I deleted the parch folder as you mentioned and all is well. :)

In general, this problem may also happen if a mod installs a different image for the pages of a readable without installing a font that fits it. I think I have seen it with some versions of the Enhancement Pack 2 and readables of type "parch" and "parch3".

Just finished, going to play again to find most of the secrets! Holy hell is that a record for the most secrets in a FM? Really fun to play, great voice acting, nice story, loved the town layout. My only complaint, I got stuck on door frames twice, I was dark thank god, as a hammerite walked past me, took advantage of the situation.

Just finished this FM on Expert is a bit less than 3 hours.
Around 2500 Loot and 15/24 Secrets
For me, it's a 4,5/5 stars !
I've had a lot of fun with this one. Definitely not the most impressive on a technical aspect, but the level design is smart and fun to play.
I've loved the variety of places to visit (City, Hammerites, Manor, Caves...) - However, like several taffers said on this thread, it would have been even better with more places to visit.
I understand you've been trying to bring back that T1 OM atmosphere, which is a total success to me.
However, I'd love so much to play this same mission NewDark style, with a more detailed city, more places to break into, appartments, shops, etc. A V2 would be completely relevant (like for Scarlet Cascabel for instance)
I took time to read this whole thread, and I'm impressed by all the alternative solutions you've been thinking about for the different puzzles and situation. Extremely smart and creative, congratulations for that !
I also loved the view from the top of the mountain, even if it was looking a bit empty, it was impressive and unique.
Actually, I've found several unique/new situations in your mission and I'll remember playing it for that. The Anax being a human is super smart as well, even if it makes the mission unghostable :p
After playing if, I have two questions :
1 : I found a Sanctuary Key on the sleeping Warden - This key seemed only able to open a small part of the top floor room containing a few weapons and I didn't find anything special inside.
Did I miss something ?
2 : I freed a prisoner in the basement. Didn't find him again in the mission. Was he supposed to be somewhere, or related to any secret/bonus objective ?
