A fantastic adventure! I've been looking for FMs that remind me of old-school Dungeons & Dragons modules and this one fit the bill. Nonlinear, creative layout with very distinct areas and clear landmarks so it's hard to get lost even if you can't keep the blueprint in your head. Lots of fun secret passageways, creative puzzles and loot placement, and there's also some lovely weirdness to the building design (a mage lives there--classic D&D premise) and magic effects that add a lot of flavor. The story provides a silly excuse for having so many guards on patrol, but they were fun to sneak around so I'm glad they are there.

Suprisingly for me, I completed the mission in expert mode without help! Cleverly designed and challenging without being impossible, atmospheric and nicely rendered! :thumb: I'm playing the TDP20AC contest missions and wonder why this wasn't one of the top three (well, I haven't played the top ones yet, so a sign of good things to come.)

Ultimate kudos to the team for this one.
Absolutely brilliant design.
I loved it!
Chock full of fine ideas.

Finished today. Really cool mission! I had a couple questions though.
What happened to the harpist? Her servant's journal indicated that something rather nasty happening to her, but I don't know what.
What was the purpose of the giant crystal in the middle of the courtyard? I connected all the lights to it and I saw where it lead to a tomb, but I'm not sure how it related to any of my objectives
Where did the wizard end up after I sent him packing from the prison? I looked all over for him but found nothing. Sequel hook maybe?
Thanks!

Let's see if I can remember correctly:
By his Adviser's council, the Mystic sacrificed the Harpist because she was a worldly attachment keeping him from immortality.
The crystal floats directly above the Adviser's tomb. Connecting all the lights to it opens the lid for you to get his treasure.
The wizard's disappearance was a cool effect I wanted to try out. I'm afraid there won't be a sequel to Heart and Soul. :p
Thanks for asking and glad you enjoyed it!

I just want to echo all the praise already given in the thread, this is a stellar mission!
Lots of surprises from scripted events, new AI, and a twisty layout (I found myself hopelessly lost a few times, only to open a door/window and know exactly where I was via new route)

Yay, I've found all the loot now!
There is a
large stash in a treasure room that's sort of 'hidden' in plain sight. :D
I was missing quite a bit, where was this?

I'm replaying this excellent mission on Expert. I've done all the main objectives, and am now looking for more loot. In the catacombs there's a pedestral with a lever on it, near a lever socket in front of which are four gold doors on the floor. If you apply the lever in that socket, the two outer doors in the floor fall away revealing a chasm, and a zombie is released from one of the vertical tombs that flank the pedestal on two sides. But another of those vertical tombs looks different from the others and clanks when blackjacked. I've searched high and low but can't find a way to open it. Has anyone found a way please?
Update: I now remember this panel had a dagger which counted as loot attached to it. So perhaps that alone accounts for the noise it gives off when hit, and it isn't supposed to open at all!

I have looked at that panel/tomb now. There is nothing behind it, and no opening mechanism in sight either. It is named "secret door" or something similar in DromEd, however. It looks to me as if the grave once was meant to be opened with something behind the panel, but the idea was never completed by the author.
