Whatever that means, language setup is messed up. Check install.cfg for the language settings.

inside the install.cfg it's set to german "language german". If that was what you meant.

It is weekend again and so I could finally continue this mission. Very well done! :D
I liked
- the teleportation trap in front of the opera house after retreiving the mages guild bracelet from the odd poker - a clever way to hide the mages guild.
- again - like in "The Mystic Estate" there was another explosive door trap :ebil:
- the invisible maze riddle in the mages guild and the other ones too
- the warehouse storage key was very well hidden on a place I didn´t expect it at all.
Difficulty overall was very high, it took me some time to navigate through the crowded opera house and the mages guild. Getting inside the opera house required to be on a certain place on the right time. I noticed afterwards I had the option to use the gas mine instead. So the concept was pretty well thought out if the player missed a certain event.
Due to the very high difficulty I would not recommend it for the new players out there. But what else can we expect from an author well known for the sheer hardness in his missions? :)
Overall I would give this mission a 9,5/10 rating, it had a very solid gameplay and an excellent story. The only confusing aspect in gameplay is that is not enough to bring the rogue mage in the sleeping quarters, he needed to be put on his bunk bed. Afterwards the objective will tick off. Also the time window for triggering the event in front of the opera house seems to be very narrow.
Right now I practically finished the mission with something over 3.000 in loot, but I want to find the last two secrets (chest next to door in the statue room and how to open the big double door next to the fountain in the garden). I already figured out it has to do something with the ground plates, because I opened the double door shortly by accident but now I can´t reproduce it. Is there a hint somewhere in the guild? I need a spoiler please! :D

Saw that
teleport trick going backwards into the opera because I left
a pile of outknocked AIs in the dark corner which (re)appeared depending on my movement. :D
OK, in the
2nd version of that opera I tried several different ways to proceed and failed sooner or later. The reason is that for me
it was too bright and the surfaces were too loud having only 7(!) moss arrows in my inventory. Tried some of these
teleport aeras (chests and statues) and found them annoying, that wastes too much time for those who prefer regular gameplay. :erg:
Nevertheless grabbed
2235/3665 so the main goal had been fulfilled. ;)
BTW I don't have those problems concerning the language installation. My
install.cfg always had the entry
language german and it works fine with both multi-language or one-language (english) FMs. I'm using the good old DarkLoader (yessss!) and it/he(?) installs the chosen or the only available language version in the root directory of /books, /intrface, /snd and /strings, that's it.

https://www.ttlg.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gifMy conclusion is one or all newer FM loaders don't do that, obviously they are not consequently designed for multi-language FMs. Reading some threads it seems that many taffers even didn't realize that a couple of T20 FMs offer multi-language support which is regrettable both for those players as for those who made the translations. :(

I thought that was perfect and the best idea in the mission. They are mages. If you step through
the red curtain with the artifact in your hands, you are crossing a disguised portal. This elegantly solves the mystery from the intro of the mission, in which Garrett mentions he has no idea where the mages' guild is.

I guess my problem was so silly, there was no answer for it. In starting Ali's mission, I learned I did not have the latest fix, so downloaded and installed it. Also I got the odd poker before getting the objective for it, which may have been a problem. And it seems I ran past the entrance to an entire section of the mission without seeing it - too distracted gawking at the city architecture. Enjoying this mission tremendously now!

Not sure if it's Newdark, but I just noticed that in Downtowne Funk as well. I dumped a body in a very dark area, and a patrolling guard got all riled up from several feet away
