Here's a thing I made for some reason:

To add to the video description, this turned out pretty much the way I feared, not the way I hoped. Particularly the main menu looks as good as it does
because it's a pixelated mess, not despite of it. Even if I managed to perfectly replicate the geometry, materials and lights, it still wouldn't look good in high resolution. I sort of assumed that going in, but somehow expected better results regardless.
Edit: I had some questions as well.

That looks great!
The forums are a bit quiet lately. People may be beavering away on contest missions or just hanging out in different corners of the web. Carleton is a popular font in Thief. It's used for briefing intros and such. Not sure if it will work here though.

Looks good.
The problem with main menu - even in newdark - it is capped at 640x480 resultion.

And maybe that's just fine, no one's actually looking at the menu graphics, anyway.

Yep. The menu items are Carleton, but "Looking Glass" and "Dark Project" are two different fonts, and neither is Carleton.

That looks excellent. Only thing I'd suggest is to make the fonts a bit brighter, they're noticeably more muted than the original

Sure, but these are also just placeholders. The kerning is different too.
So it seems that the Looking Glass font is actually Charlemagne. It's also the title font of Outlander. Four seasons of this goofy show and only today I recognized the font.

Hi
is it possible to get this as mod / source files?
Thanks!
jermi on 3/3/2020 at 08:53
No, a mod isn't possible because the menus are hard-coded to 640x480 resolution. And that's fine, improving the menu screens is not at the top of anyone's list of priorites.

i was rather thinking of using this as T3 main menu mod (with changed logo and some details).
