Zero tolerance for kids having fun at school. then? They of that mindset are probably the same fat ones who were the first one out the games or tagged it and couldn't tag anyone else cept the kid who had to wear the helmet to school. Aggression is the reason to play. I thinks its retarded that todays kids cant get hurt and can't compete to win. Thats all the world is once your out in it. Full of people who were taught to be competative and all these nancy boys and girls are going to get mowed down in their employment and any other aspect of their lives. Then there will be no developement or evolution if there is no competition. I say schools shoud be banned for damaging kids.
Don't blame the schools for this, they are just covering their ass to avoid the overly protective parents who think any accident is because the school wants to watch children get hurt. The people at fault are parents who don't trust their childrens' ability to heal or recover, or learn from their mistakes for that matter. Compare parent most likley in that school and my parent.
My parent: I collide into a kid during capture the flag and sprain my ankle, mom takes me to the hospital to make sure it's not broken and tells me to be more careful. {True story}
Overly-protective parent: Child collides into boy and scratches his knee. Mother yells and screams hysterically and sues the school for letting kids come into contact without covering them in styrofoam.
In the end, it's those "Mothers Gone Wild :sly:"
But in all seriousness, just don't blame the educational system for trying to protect theirselves from those crazy parents.

I agree. It's not the schools. How do you enforce rules on a child who never had any at home? You know the ones I mean. The brat who kicks the back of your seat during a movie while he's sitting right next to Dad who says nothing. The screaming whirlwinds going through the grocery store at top speed. The curious face sticking out from UNDER the toilet stall while you're trying to pee. (Yes, this happened to me.) I'm not talking about a 3 yr old's temper tantrum. I mean the kids who are school-aged & should know better. But, if they are never taught how to behave, how could they know? I think the vast majority of the blame lies with the parents and their lack of involvement in raising their children.

I'm going to bet that your past predicament has you swinging toward the school system. now;) Fair enough..But come to think of it...never mind the parents...don't you think that there isn't some greedy scumbag attorney willing to sue schools over recess actiities in order to enrich himself? I do. Progressive parents and teachers are making sure kids fail and as a result society is going to fail.
mothers gone Wild...lol

When did you start hating working people? I never failed a class, I make honors, the kids who fail, fail because they earned those grades due to lack of work, dedication, bad studying habits, bad memory, or have a learning disability.
Please tell me which part of the student handbook says teachers are plotting the end of the world....

I've read things in the media over the years that have suggested that we stop using words like 'ark' or 'manger' because children don't know what they mean, or that we overhaul the spelling and grammer of english to make it easier for children to learn. No one seems to suggest that we teach them properly- if they don't know the meaning of the word you teach it to them, or if they're old enough you show them how to use a dictionary.
So now difficult words and spelling are too hard for them, sports and school trips are too dangerous, the media have got parents so scared about 'stranger danger' that parents won't let their kids out and apparently failing at something will mentally and emotionally scar them for life.
We're going to be a nation of obese agoraphobics at this rate.
This is all a wild generalisation, but that's the best kind. On a more serious note, rates of self harm and mental illness among teenagers are disturbingly high.

Its the fat overprotective housewives/mothers who have nothing to do that are plotting the end of the world...and those against the ban are successful sociable people that work all day...better?
P.E classes go and lawyers pockets get fatter right along with the kids.
Omg what if its ordered that there are no winners in soccer!!??

They don't want the poor obese kids to drop dead outside from playing tag. Next thing you know, recess will be banned altogether. SHHHHHH.

...Don't forget Dodge Ball which has already been banned at some schools.
You mean
murder-ball and it was properly done using those small plastic (American) footballs, hockey pucks, frisbees and the occasional softball (which could be real jawbreakers if you got hit).

"Ok, kids, I'm afraid you need to sit in the classroom all day. As you know, Billy died from heart attack when he put too much pressure on his heart when he was running around outside."
