Tag banned in a school /= tag banned in school
Still I can totally understand and sympathise with their opinion. People will sue for the slightest thing these days, and the school is quite sensible to protect its own back.

Friendly fire in the war on obesity :nono:
It may only be one school but I suspect that's simply because they were the first to think of it.
Does America (and the UK to some extent) have a shortage of competant defence lawyers? Is there nobody with the sufficient wit and faith in their own common sense to convince a court that "it was an accident"?

The oldest game in the kid handbook. That's beyond ridiculous. :nono:

I don't think many people would take that subject line to indicate that tag has been banned everywhere including Turkmenistan and Burkina Faso, just as "fight breaks out in school" would not indicate that it was some sort of world-wide mega-school fight, which would be awesome.

So... what's the difference?

The primary school I went to banned certain forms of tick well over a decade ago. Classics such as "What's the Time Mr. Wolf", "British Bulldog" and "Chain tick" with chains longer than 3 people (the chain had to split into 2 when it reached 4 people).

Oh good god. Back when I was in elementary school, we were paddled everyday, playing Red Rover clothsline style, and daring each other to grab electric fences. I can even remember the veritable threat to life and limb that the monkey bars represented...it was like a spectre of death that hung over the playground.
Yet someway, somehow, we all managed to not only survive to old age, but never once gave our parents a reason to embroil the school in petty, pointless lawsuits.
Strangely enough, it's my generation that's either bringing about all these idiotic changes, or suing the schools for hundreds of thousands over minor issues, which in turn forces people to make said idiotic changes.

Recess is "a time when accidents can happen," said Willett Elementary School Principal Gaylene Heppe,
I have a proposition to make, let's put her in a coffin and lock her up there, because anything else in the world is a time when accidents can happen, we care a lot about her security.
