Taffers who play Deus Ex. - by Cobra189

How many of you feel a distinctive feel of satisfaction when you break or sneak into some kind of armory or storage area and start looting everything in sight? I sure do, and I'm still hacking accounts and stealing from public places, too. I sure don't feel like a law enforcer in this game. But it's extremely fun overall.

Yup. I feel the same way. Heh, who ever said there was no such thing as "corrupt cops"? :cheeky:

Well. When I started DX, I began by sneaking around the enemies in Liberty Island (instead of by blowing their heads off in gory ways.) Some missions later, I realized in a chat with other people that this was probably a weird way to start a shooter. ;)
But well, with their standard patrol patterns and their limited sight (no eyes in the back of their heads), they invite stealth approaches. :)
That aside, yes. I always steal the money (stealing more money is the reason why I love the computer skill in master level), I steal everything that isn't nailed to the floor, and I read everyone's private emails without a second thought about the "morality" of invading the privacy of others in that way.

But I get greater satisfaction from KOing a guard and looting his body for all that extra ammo.
I actually didn't start DX with stealth. I always thought it was some kind of shooter. When I arrived at Navarre's stealth course... wtf. Been playing Thief for quite some time and I hated any other FPS game with stealth because it ALWAYS sucked. It was either too difficult or too stupid (think Jedi Outcast). But I experimented for awhile and found that the stealth in DX is just as good as the ones from Thief.

Not at all. I went through the first 3 missions in Splinter Cell with killing, knocking out or even shooting a single bullet, until I finally got tired of playing like that.:p

I played the game by sneaking up and KOing all the enemies. Except the MJ12 commandos of course.
Really useful for the Augmented guys who blow up in your face. A few riot prod rounds later you can loot their corpses. Fun.
And stealing everything in the game, or cutting it up, was a lot of fun.

Yeah, but after about the third metal dude that did an unrealistic, instant one-eighty and easily killed me with half a spray of metal I lost patience and just started sniping them in the back of the neck. Figure it would scare the other MJ12's who're in line for promotion to commando.

gotta aim for the head... zapping the kneecaps wont really knock them out for good....;)
