I would do a clean install using tafferpatcher first. Then do as he says.

I run Windows 7 64 bit. i ran tafferpatcher and it asked to select CD folder. I select the drive and it starts to install then I get the message "Wrong disk inserted or unsupported distribution package structure. Setup cannot continue." Any ideas? BTW message comes up when installing strings.crf if that helps

you should ignore the cd options unless you actually have an old T2 cd.

I would suggest simply installing the game from the cd and then continuing from there. setting setup.exe to win9x compatibility mode should be all that's required.

Hi,
After a clean T2 install, I have also installed TafferPatcher (TafferPatcher_TMA_216_beta.exe).
When I go into a game using FM Selector for the first time and change the resolution to fit my screen (1600x900), the FM Selector will fail to load the next time I go to play an FM. When I click the FM Selector icon, nothing happens.
Thief 2 runs fine from that same directory. I am assuming that it's something with my resolution and FM Selector. Not T2 itself.
I have tried setting my resolution in the .cfg files but it didn't help.
I am on Win10 with Intel HD 4400 graphics. I am using HDMI-out.
Any suggestions?

EDIT: I just did another install. It doesn't matter if I change the resolution or not. I can only run an FM 1 time. After that, FMSel won't start any FM that I try.

I had to buy a new DVD drive. I installed from CD then installed everything from Tafferpatcher and the game works great. When It started the opening cut scene I almost felt as excited as when it first came out.
Now I have to search the basement of my house for the unfinished fan mission I spent too many hours working on more than 12 years ago or so. lol.

try editing your cam_mod.ini and uncomment ;fm, that will always start FMselect when you run the main exe.

Unfortunately it didn't help. FMSel loads up fine and then just closes when I click Start FM or Play FM.
For the heck of it, I installed Darkloader to see if it may be something with my system but, it runs the FMs fine at 1600X900.
I'd much rather use FMSel.
Any other thoughts?
