Can anyone advise
I have just tried to play King Abedzen's Tomb and came across the following problem
When i first tried to play my brand new computer said i only had Newdark 1.22 so patched with tafferpatch 216
(newdark 1.23) and game played....but could not use glowlits, Garrett did not say anything when he approached the tomb, and just realised the grave digger did not trigger and so neither did the spade. So tried to re-patch with Newdark and noticed it installed at lightening speed (didn't think this was strange as my new computer has SSD), but still the game did not play correctly, the issues above remained.
so i booted up on my old computer and the game plays correctly.....it would appear my new computer is not correctly (or only partially) installing tafferpatch. I am following the instructions on tafferpatch as usual, had a thought though that could it be that my anti virus is interfering with the installation (i have Norton) but turning Norton off did not work....any other suggestions / advise / pointers would be appreciated
Edit: so have deleted T2 install from new computer and installed my correctly patched (1.23) T2 game from my old computer and problem solved, but would still ask someone to explain what the problem could be as i expect there will be other Newdark / tafferpatch releases further on down the line
thanks in advance

things not triggering usually means script problems. I'd try a completely clean install +TafferPatcher.

thanks Voodoo, i'll check that out tomorrow
Edit: FYI.....that was the issue....all resolved
Thanks

Here I can report bugs from original Thief 2 missions as I know. I found one (two?) bug, with this bug I can't complete this Thief 2 fanmission - "Slow but Steady Progress" - should I report it here, in other topic or should I ignore it? This is engine bug or mission bug (not sure) - I played it with Thief 2 1.18.

Since you are not sure whether it's a bug in the mission or something related to NewDark, I think it would be best to report the problem in (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=104819) this thread (the one about the FM), including the version of Thief 2 NewDark you are using in your post, and see what others say and think about the problem.

and don't forget the saves.

ive been observing some very strange behaviour in the "trail of blood" OM
mainly invisible enemies and objects as well as shifted collision/hitboxes
video: (

all these problems are exclusive to that mission and the rest of the game works perfectly fine

Hi guys, i just bought a new Laptop Toshiba satellite L50b2eq Pretty fast and strong and game works finde but i cant change the brightness.
First of all i i bought the trilogy edition(thiefone 2 and deadly shadows in one dvd from square enix) installed it with RUN -lgtforce
after installing the game was working fine when i open it with Thief2_no_ddfix when i normally run it with Thief2 everything appears completely black .. but i can hear sounds and stuff .... when i run via Thief2_no_ddfix i can play it normally ... but its very dark and i can hardly see anything...
even when i installed tafferpatcher it didnt help... cant adjust brightness ---- not with settings and not with +
then i installed ddfix hoping that something will happen. I extracted ddfix in thieffolder and run ddfixGUI and applied patch
still no changes and i also cant watch the cutscenes ...
i already tried reinstalling everything ... and also tried run as admin .... also tried playing with compatibilitymode with windows 7 and xp and win 8 ... still i cant change brightness
any suggestions how to do this ?:tsktsk::tsktsk::tsktsk:

Ddfix. Is no longer used. Can you adjust rhe brightness with the video driver panel? Your laptop appears to have a nvidia graphics chip.

If you have updated Thief 2 to NewDark (which usually happens when one uses a recent version of Tafferpatcher), you can try the following:
Look for the Thief 2 folder where the game is installed. You should find a file called cam_ext.cfg in there. Open it with a text editor (but not with a word processor like MS Word or LibreOffice). Look for a line containing "d3d_disp_no_rgb10_buf". Most likely, you will find this line with a semicolon (";") placed in front of it. If this is the case, remove the semicolon and save cam_ext.cfg.
If you can use + and - to change brightness (or rather the gamma value, since it's not exactly the same as brightness) after this, enjoy your new vision! If it does not work, open the file once again and put the semicolon back in front of the aforementioned line.
