Their intended behavior is: have a conversation, enter the building, close the door and then disappear so once you get the key to the shack and open the bay door, you would be able to loot the place freely. It worked as intended in 1.07, but was broken in 1.18 — they never went into the building, just stood there indefinitely. The mission provided in Tafferpatcher has the original behavior restored. The sequence is not foolproof though, so if you have broken he sequence by being seen or making noise, or loaded a save from 1.18, then any weird thing can happen.
Is the cutscene blurriness the same as you play them in media player full-screen or worse?

Ah. I've only used 1.21 saves, but it's pretty easy to hold the door open when they try to close it; in normal play the idea is that they've concluded their business and left by the time you get there, I suppose. But sometimes Kilgor does disappear before initiating the conversation if you load a (quick?)save earlier.
I'd say the blurriness, which is most noticeable around text is a bit worse ingame than in a media player (VLC in this case); and the blurriness is only noticeable for the Keeper/Mechanist/Pagan sayings. The level-specific stills with Garrett's narration look fine either way.

Oh it was so nice to creep around in 1.21 after what I saw earlier today!
(About the NuGarret!)
As far as I'm concerned,
as long as we've still got T1 and 2,
updated, patched and modded.
And TDM!
Then Garrett will never die.

@Domarius
The Ultimate Difficulty mod MAY work with the fixed missions, however you'd lose all the fixes (and there are a LOT of them) included in the gamesys itself. Off the top of my head, I don't think there would be any game breaking things missing.
If you were really crazy, and I mean REALLY crazy, you could spend time in dromed, comparing the changes in the ultimate difficulty mod's gamesys to the original, and make them into a set of DMLs. DMLs are an external file that can mod a gamesys or a mission. You'd effectively be saying to the fixed gamesys "Here, add all these properties in these different places," and newdark would be all like "OK, DONE!" There's a readme that comes with in the Newdark documents. I imagine it would be a lot of work, but that would enable you to use the fixed gamesys, and seemlessly add the difficulty mod to it.
As far as EAX is concerned, if you have a Realtek sound card, you could try 3DSoundBack. You have to run it in Vista compatibility mode if you have Win7 or Win8, but it worked back when I tried it with Win7. If you sound card was made by another manufacturer, you might research to see if they ever made something to restore EAX.
BTW, Thief2 Fixed 1.0e is Thief2 1.18 compatible, and could be used with multiplayer. However, the new version that is coming out in a few days, boasts 32-bit lighting and doubles the lightmap resolution, but it was rendered with Newdark 1.21 and is only compatible with Newdark.
[Edit]
Typo: 3D bit -> 32-bit lighting.

That's great that you are doing that! I think that's one of the most important features of NewDark - that is, the new 32-bit lightmaps. Also, what did you mean by 3d bit lighting?:confused:

typo, most probably. was meant to be 32bit.

Thanks Rice that worked with no problems!

Hey guys, first time poster long time lurker. I downloaded Tafferpatcher and gave it a full install of all of its features. When I start the first mission the screen looks like this:

There is only a small visible area on the screen that you can see. The only other mod that is installed is DDfix which seems to come stock with the game when you download it from Steam. Is there a work-around for this?
