Voodoo
Perfect explanation. Thanks for giving the layman explanation.
Now I can start a new rooftop mission with what seems like a lot more flexibility. Only problem is I am out of town until Sat. night. I know what I am doing Sat. night.
Thanks again

Not sure if this is the right place to post questions but here goes.
In NewDark I got Thief 2 to run I just tired Dromed and I went into game mode without an issue but when I wanted to exit out of game mode by hitting alt e, it does not exit game mode. Any ideas?
Thanks

You are probably missing this line from your user.bnd file:
bind e+alt edit_mode
The other way to exit game mode is to bring up the console and enter edit_mode there.
(I copy my old tried and tested user.bnd from one installation to the next.)

Thanks for your advice. I looked in my main Thief directory and I do not see a "user.bnd" file?

I think if you go into Thief under Options->Controls->Customize Controls and save your controls settings (even if you don't actually change anything), the file will be created. Going on memory here.

Thanks, worked like a charm.
One question for all, if I have Dromed questions related to NewDark, where should I post them There are a number of threads including this one where people are posting questions. Should there be a NewDark Dromed thread?
Here is a basic Dromed question. Do I follow all the rules I have used prior to NewDark - setting up starting point with scripts, moving away from location 0,0,0, etc.? I am just starting to play with NewDark but was wondering about differences in the basic rules/approach.
Thanks

All the basics are the same, but there are a lot of enhancements you'll discover as you work on a mission. The most important thing to do probably is install the Dromed Enhanced menus as they expose a lot of the new functionality, like 32-bit lightmaps. One of the nicer usability improvements is the texture palette - open an old mission up in it and hit Alt-T for a nice surprise.

Question: Why does Tafferpatcher configure B16.AVI to be excluded from cropping? It appears to be letterboxed.
voodoo47 on 12/2/2013 at 20:04
indeed. open cam_ext.cfg and delete it from the crop exclude list. reported to the Tafferpatcher team as well.
