I'm using Tafferpatcher and playing the original T2 missions using Garret Loader and some of the doorways are black and I cannot see through them with the doors open. Also, after finishing part of the first mission some of the guards reanimated and some of the loot reappeared. Anybody else have this issue? My OS is Windows XP.

Are you using old saves? If so you need to restart the mission.

No, I was starting from a fresh install of the game, darkloader and tafferpatcher.

I would blame it on the loader. try not using it.

Sounds like dark is using the wrong gamesys. Perhaps a Conflict between the two different loaders.

What's kind of weird is that I played Shipping and Receiving all the way through without any issues at all. I'm guessing that it's the lack of decent video card on my old work computer.

looks more like a resource issue to me. but as always, screenshots would be nice.

I installed a fresh install of Thief2 using ver. 2.0.5. In the "Completing the Tafferpatcher Application" screen there is a "Thief2 Test Launch" option. I clicked this and got the following error:
Unable to locate or load d3dx9_43.dll
Should I try to find this file or just update directx? I have DX11.
I just installed Tafferepatcher 207 and got the same error. I did see a post that explained how to fix the problem but I could not understand what the fix actually was. Could someone please help me?
Thanks

the recommended way is to get the (
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109) official download from microsoft (download, run, extract to a folder of your choice, run dxsetup.exe), this will install everything that is required.
explanation: DX11 does not contain DX9 (or older), so when an app requires the older api, a default win7 install will fail to launch it. therefore, if the user wants to run such an app, DX9 needs to be installed manually. this will not overwrite DX11 or anything (they are separate), so it's safe to do at any time - in fact, it's recommended, as many older games require the older api(s).
