Remove/rename the file patchedres\strings\%language%\OBJNAMES.STR and it should be fine.
The thing is that folders specified in cam_mod.ini -> mod_path have higher priority than the root folder. It makes it possible to run updated original missions, but at the same time it overrides FM resources unless the FM is loaded via built-in FM installer (then it's uber_mod_path > FM > mod_path > darkinst). I'll look what I can do to improve compatibility.

If it works, don't fix it. The only thing new TP adds besides 1.19 itself is the patched missions resource pack which still has issues (see Dainem's post).

No, I didn't find it useful as Darkloader installs them too and new missions contain them anyway. If they are needed in TP, I'll add them to the next version.

— Improved mods handling when using a Tafferpatched game as a source for a new install.

Backward compatible with 2.0.5 and 2.0.6. Nothing is changed for the patched game itself, so if you have a game patched by 2.0.6, don't bother reinstalling.

Here's something odd...

During installation, the patch creates a new folder called THIEF2 (inside the Thief 2 folder), and makes a 0KB file called MISS8.MIS. Weird. Hope that's not a failed attempt to patch that mission or something.

BTW, is there any way to keep the patcher from forcing a re-install of the 1.18 patch? Call me OCD, but that really bugs the heck outta me, since I'm now using the pre-patched GOG version (hail GOG; GOG is your friend).

I have installed t2 via the latest taffer patcher. The ; has been remove from the user.cfg for graphics. The game loads up to a black screen. You can hear everything in the background including the mouse moving across the buttons. Same with thief gold using tfix. :confused: I have an I5 with 4 gigs ram and an intell hd graphics card. Any help much appreciated. Thanks in advance! :confused::angel::)

Try this: Look in your Thief2 folder for the file: cam_ext.cfg. Open it, find this line "multisampletype 8" and put a semi-colon at the beginning.

This should really have been asked in the (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131106) Taffer Patcher thread or in the (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140085) V 1.19 thread.

In fact, I've now moved it to the Taffer Patcher thread.
