downloaded, auto-extracted, and ran dxsetup.exe?
Tannar on 6/11/2012 at 20:30
Yes.

the dll is in Jun2010_d3dx9_43_x86.cab, try extracting it to your game folder.

It wasn't there. I don't know if it was a corrupted download or if something went wrong during installation or maybe something happened after that somehow. Anyway, I just downloaded and installed the DX runtime again and it works fine now. Thanks for your help. Sorry if I was being a bit dense.

Perhaps I spoke too soon. I started the OMs and all went well up to the menu screen which itself works fine. But when I start the game I get just a black screen. The movies play fine and there are no crashes. I can hear Basso talking in Running Interference but I can't see anything. I did a search in this thread and read what others had done when faced with this. Based on that, I offer the following:
- The line "safe_texture_manager" was already uncommented in my User.cfg.
- The screen resolution in cam.cfg is set to 640 x 480. DJ Riff says that this should be changed via Tafferpatcher but I'm not sure how to do that or even if this is relevant to the black screen.
- The game was running on all four processors. I changed to only one but that made no difference to the black screen.
- I tried compatibility mode and I disabled desktop composition.
- I changed the ui_scale_mode in cam_ext.cfg to both 0 and 1
None of these things made any difference.
EDIT: I solved it. I commented this line in cam_ext.cfg
; multisampletype 8
I don't know how I missed this the first time I read through cam_ext.cfg but this time I caught it. Thanks for the help, voodoo47.

intel integrated graphics, I assume? those simply don't work when multisampling is enabled. anyway, glad you got it working.

With TP 2.05 I get a strange bug: In the fanmissions "Mech Angelo 1.19" and "Evil Thievery" the game does not show any names of keys, items or A.I. This occurs to keys which got a specific name by the author. One example: in the FM "Mech Angelo" right at the start you collect the crypt key. But this name is not shown in the inventary.
I now tested some configurations with TP and figured it out: this bug only happens when I install "vollständig korrigierter Ressourcenpack" (complete correct Ressource pack, I presume). After deinstalling this specific point, the key names are shown again in the inventary. This Bug dos not happen with a full install of TP 1.03.

Dainem, Which loader do you use to install the fan-mission?
Dainem on 8/11/2012 at 11:41
Darkloader 4.31b. Same problem with Garretloader 1.41. But with the integrated FMinstaller the names are shown.

Awesome sound good. I did 1.19 after taffer patcher, TP was from a while back. Should I start over with fresh install?
Does TP install scripts? I'm having a issue currently with them.
Thanks a million again. But running though the many I have never tried. Long live Thief2 and ttlg
