DromEd Toolkit is
required for DromEd 1.19 to work properly.
I don't think so unless you are referring to menus.cfg. Dromed 1.19 uses the toolkit's menus.cfg but it's not required for dromed 1.19 to run. I used 1.19 before getting the toolkit installed. Just means that the toolkit specific commands are not going to work, but a dromeder could just replace the new menus.cfg with his or her old one.

try loading T2x via fmsel.
Which works great BTW. But causes the game menus to have no sound. Because of all the custom stuff or whatever... Needs fixed, but otherwise a good solution to all T2X issues.
Also, semi-puzzled, in While The City Sleeps,
Some female non-threatening AI fell into the lake near that one secret point up on the roofs. Coincidence, or what?

Mine works just fine (complete with sound in the menus.) What I did is run the T2X installer, went to the T2X directory and selected "all". Then right clicked and selected WinZIP->Add to t2x.zip. The key point is to archive the entire contents in the T2X directory maintaining all paths etc.... I then used control panel to "uninstall" T2X and placed my shiny new zip file into the archive path of FMSel. I then used FMSel to install it as a FM. I was afraid I would need to edit some of the cfg files, and I may need to do so (or remove then, or something,) but it seems to be working just fine withoug doing any of that.

is there a way to re-enable the "tutorial" comments in the first mission? because after installing tafferpatcher they are gone. im refering to comments like "i should take a look at my map" or "that must be the door basso mentioned".
thanks in advance.

I believe the hints are only shown/played on Normal. Maybe you're playing on Expert this time? I just checked and it works fine for me in Running Interference on Normal in 1.19.

Well maybe it was just a problem with the AI I'm thinking w/ Thief 2X. So Phoenix, you say you have it so that even menus have sound too?

Yes, At first I just unzipped the t2_119.zip file directly into the T2X directory, and changed the shortcut to run Thief2.exe. I later tried running the t2x.exe and again it worked fine. Finally I completely removed T2X, installed it clean with the setup, then zipped the entire directory (t2x.zip,) and dropped it into my Fan Mission archive directory and tried running it like a fan mission. In all 3 cases, it seemed to work just fine.

Hmm, interesting. I'll look into that. So thanks for testing all that out, Phoenix.

So sorry to be a outdated Taffer, but I want to play through T2 again but am confused about what patches to get. I read a lot but it just opened up more and more patch names to learn. To get Thief 2 at it's best, graphically; textures, models, as well the most fixes, what should I install and in what order?
For fan missions, what FM loader is the best?
Thanks so much, it's great that I'm not the only fan still rocking Thief.
