Sure. As far as I understand it, the latest version of ddfix does not have a way to set the resolution from the ddfix.ini, so in order to get the resolution you want, either check in thief itself under the resolutions in Options, or change the resolution in cam.cfg to match the one you want.
In cam.cfg, look for the current resolution which should be 800 600 (note the lack of the x. You don't need it.)

Look, I'm sorry this is getting difficult. It's just that the resolution is already set to 800 600 in both Thief and the cam.cfg file. Incidentally, I checked the Tafferpatcher.ini file and it says that "ws" (which I assume means widescreen) was installed. For some reason the widescreen isn't taking effect on my monitor. The screen still looks strangely stretched when I start the game.

set it to your desktop resolution.

You misunderstood me - I know it's 800 600 already, my point was to change it to the one you do want by typing in, for example, 1280 800.

Now, the main problem I am having is that the widescreen mod does not appear to have taken effect. (It was grayed out on the custom install page when I looked.) Do you know what may be going on with this?
It's intentional because ddfix 1.5.11 and 1.5.12 already has widescreen incorporated so there's no need to install it separately

Please explain how I use ddfix to adjust my settings.
Run Tafferpatcher again and click Next until you see the resolution dialog window. Type in your resolution, click OK, then click Next to the finish.
OROpen CAM.CFG file in Notepad and change the string
game_screen_size 800 600 according to your resolution.

Thank you all so much for your help in this. The widescreen problem is finally solved. There are just a couple other minor things that I don't know if you can help me with.
The maps (and possible writings; I haven't reached that point yet) look somewhat faded and blurry.
I'm not sure, but I think Garrett's voice in the game might not be working. (This is only while playing the missions. He sounds fine in cutscenes.)
Edit: Sorry, I confirmed Garrett's voice is working. The only problem is the maps don't look right. The writing can't be easily read and the highlighted sections (showing where you are appear in yellow instead of blue.)

Ok, I have a really weird problem here.
I recently had to reformat my harddrive, so that means (sigh) reinstalling all my crap. When I installed my thief games and then Tafferpatcher, I ran Thief 2 for a test trial and came across the weirdest thing: the movement key controls were all wrong. In fact, they mirrored the key controls of Thief 1 exactly. ie: instead of W + shift for running, it's just W. And F makes you crouch, not X, and so on. After several exclamations of "What the hell?!" I could only conclude that perhaps it was something the patch did as I've never encountered this problem before.

Running Thief with administrator rights and going Options->Controls->Customize Controls->Load->"Thief 2 Default Bindings" doesn't help?
Lady Taffer on 11/9/2012 at 04:51
Actually, that worked perfectly. Thanks!
Man, that was odd. .

I just installed the latest Tafferpatcher, and my Thief 2 sky texture has reverted back to being ugly and washed out. I patched it with Ddfix (the latest one), and now my game won't run anymore. I checked ddfix.ini, and cam.cfg, and the resolution matches in both.
EDIT: Never mind, went back to the old ddfix, it's back to normal
