Ok, I installed T2 and then hopefully, I got Tafferpatcher installed correctly.
Tweaking the compatability around a bit I am able to get to the main menu, but I crash on game start. It happens when I press the button to start the game, so I don't even catch a glimpse of Boxo the Bassman. Everything else I do results in horrible pallate shifting or just general crashes and freezes.
I'm running 7 64-bit.
I have no clue how I got it working last time. It was working fine a day ago, but one folder just had to be moved :p anyways, help, please.
AVI chunk viewer pops up when it crashes; does that have anything to do with it?
EDIT: I was missing codecs. If you do have a 64-bit OS, Ligos Indeo Codec WILL NOT WORK. K-Lite codec megapack should solve it. Everything is working smoothly now.

There's no need to install Indeo codecs in W 7 at all. All you need is to execute
regsvr32 ir50_32.dll from the command line or check the "Register codec" checkbox on Tafferpatcher's tasks page. The problem begins when one overwrites the DLL file with some old one like the one from iv5play.exe — this breaks the codec at least on x64. It is then you have to overwrite it again using System Restore or any x64 compatible codec pack.

I tried to do that, but it wouldn't let me.
Now I'm crashing to desktop on game start. For crying out loud.
I'm reinstalling it outside of program files, and I just noticed that there is an option in TP to register the Indeo codec :p
RESULT: Nope, still CTD.
Installed scripts; no change.

Hi. I tried downloading Tafferpatcher twice. The first time the download failed because it said "the file couldn't be read." The second time it downloaded successfully but when I tried to run installation it said the files were corrupted. Is there a problem at the source?

Which version, the beta or the regular? And where did you download it from ? I have the regular one so I could upload it if need be.

Thanks for posting that file. Now, the main problem I am having is that the widescreen mod does not appear to have taken effect. (It was grayed out on the custom install page when I looked.) Do you know what may be going on with this?
sNeaksieGarrett on 3/8/2012 at 18:24
No, I don't actually have a lot of experience with using TafferPatcher. I've had my games installed already using methods before tafferpatcher came about.
Hopefully someone else will come along to this thread to help you. Actually, I just thought of something while typing this up - since tafferpatcher includes ddfix, the latest version of ddfix as far as I know includes widescreen built-in, so you can set your resolution with ddfix instead.

Um...my resolution is currently set for 800x640. Is there a way to adjust this to widescreen?
Edit: Sorry resolution 800x600. Please explain how I use ddfix to adjust my settings.
