Oh wow, I didn't even know tafferpatcher had utilities for darkinst.cfg and ddfix.ini. Did you make these programs? Any screenshots?

Cool. Would certainly make working with those files easier and quicker, but I'm familiar enough with the files that I don't really need the utilities; plus my game is already set up fine on this machine so I don't need to worry about it.

I could see how these would be useful as seperate applications for the less technical thief players out there who don't feel like taking the time to manually edit the files. (Or for those of us who are feeling lazy.)

I recently watched some of the "Let's Play Thief Gold" videos by FrozenFoxy on Youtube, and when he was in The Lost City, he picked up the precursor masks in the courthouse as loot. He was playing on expert just like I am, but on my Thief Gold all the masks that you can find in The Lost City are worthless junk. What the taff is going on? In fact, in my original TDP the masks have never been loot, but I have seen evidence on video that they should be loot in Thief Gold. In my game they just aren't. Is it a bug with the loot fix of the TG-converted Tafferpatcher?

To get masks as loot, you need to buy a "Tip" from the store at the beginning of the mission.

Oh, right. I though that the tips don't influence the gameplay in any way because... I think that's the only tip in the series that does. :p It's kinda misleading because all the information found on those tips is easy to find out during the missions, and buying the tips changes nothing in all the other instances when it's possible to buy them. It seems like every time I play Thief 1 or 2, I learn something that I haven't learned in a whole decade of playing. ;)
